For my money, the best League line-up ever was from their early 1980's "satellite" era and was made up of:

Red Tornado
Elongated Man
Zatanna
Firestorm

Both Hawkman and Wonder Woman were absent from much of this era, as Hawkman and Hawkgirl had been called back to Thanagar, and Wonder Woman was coming off the ill-conceived period when DC tried to re-make her into a female James Bond with no superpowers, but toward the end of this era, they were all together, and I though they were the best superhero team ever.

Yes, I know Firestorm wasn't in either JL or JLU, but he darn well should have been.

Anyway, 7 left:

Nightwing - I've heard he's had a rough ride in the comics. What a shame the ways I hear he's being protrayed. He's supposed to be 2nd to Batman, the other half of "The Dynamic Duo"... "The Boy Wonder". The guy with creativity in his plans. The guy who learned from one of the best, The... well, there's ton of other stuff, and he's got a wicked costume to boot, and would have by far the best fighting in the show with his agility and all. It sucks that he's been banished from television forever... or at least for the next long while.

Aquaman - Embar- oh, don't want to get the 'E word' going around here again.

Captain Atom (energy versatility)
The Atom (still need a genius scientist)
Thunderbolt (nearly limitless power)
Green Arrow (who has abilities that dont require metahuman powers which can come in handy in a certain scenario where metahumans lose their powers...similar to the X-Men in the Savage Land. He also is a perfect shot and will keep the league honest)
Fire (because she is "hot")
