Paul Dini once said he submitted the idea of a Capt. Marvel series right after Batman Beyond to the WB. I think it was to be sorta comical not taken too serious. This would be a great guest star on Justice League. I can't see why not. Shazam has great fanbase that dates back to the serials era, not to mention his cartoon and show back in the 70's. He is a DC icon, and has to be in this series.

What do ya'll think?

Shazam didn't have a cartoon, though Captain Marvel did which was probably named something like "Shazam!". Shazam also didn't have a live action show back in the 70's, though Captain Marvel did have a live action show, again named "Shazam!" Shazam didn't even appear on the live action show; instead, they substituted an Uncle Dudley-style "Mentor" with some weird device that could summon up the six guys whose names form the acronym spelling out the old wizard Shazam's name.

I don't think of Shazam as a DC icon; how many people really love that old wizard? Captain Marvel, however, just might be a DC icon. I wouldn't want to see Shazam be the guest star of an episode, though I wouldn't mind seeing Captain Marvel guest star.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that there's a DC Hero named Captain Marvel?
I mean, Marvel doesn't have Crusader DC! =D

Also, What's this about Stan Lee doing work for DC?

There was actually an animated series called SHAZAM in the works very recently that starred Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel Jr. I forget why it was scrapped, but it was...

They had some conceptual sketches a few years back in Wizard. It looked pretty cheesy (it wasn't done in art deco). I'll try and find the issue number.
