I really love BTAS and TNBA and I was thinking. These shows were about as much about Batman as they were his rogues gallery of villains. So I was wondering who you thought the five best ones were, or even just your personal favorites?

My picks: The Joker
Ra's Al Ghul
Catwoman
The Riddler
Poison Ivy

I'm gonna have to go with:

The Joker Batman's number one villian. If a trivia question was "Name a Batman villian" most would say Joker.

Two-Face His unique relationship with Bruce Wayne and Tim Drake make him an obvious choice.

The Penguin I'd wouldn't feel right if I didn't include him.

The Riddler Challenges Batman's intelligence and really makes him think.

Mr. Freeze The ultimate tortured soul. He was in so few episodes, but when he did his story makes them so powerful.

1. Riddler
2. Joker
3. Ra's Au Gowl (sp)
4. Cat Woman
5. Posion Ivy

My sixth would be a tie between Killer Croc and Scarecrow.

BTW, what was the name of the episode where they are all playing cards and talk about the time they almost killed Batman (Batman was disguised as Croc)? Is that one in the January block?

1. Mr. Freeze- He was the villian w/ the most soul. He wasn't evil or crazy, just broken-hearted.

2. Joker- He laughs at destruction. Now that's evil.

3. Catwoman- The femme fatel. Enough said.

4. Riddler- A villian w/ wits to match Batman.

5. Two-Face- It's always hard to go up against your own best friend.

Hmmm... so many villains... but I guess it comes down too...

JOKER- The all time coolest comic book villain of all time for the same reason as batman being to coolest hero. He's got no special powers or abilities but hes incredibly clever and has a buhgillian tricks up his sleeve (an image of Joker dancing around supermans dying defeated kryptonite battered body with his joy buzzer continuously shocking the helpless man of steel comes to mind.)

HARLEY QUINN- I've loved her the second she showed up in the animated universe and anyone who thinks any less of her because she started off there and not in the comics is just a complete dimwitt. Harley rules.

MR. FREEZE- First episode I ever saw of Batman TAS was the first Mr. Freeze episode and I've been hooked ever since. Plus I've always liked the ice weilding characters. I think he has by far the most interesting story of any of the villains and you just can't help but feel bad for him no matter how many henchmen he accidentally freezes and leaves behind :D .

POISON IVY- She and Harley are the best female villains in any comic book or cartoon i've ever seen. (I also have a predisposition to like the botanical characters.)

CLAYFACE- His powers are awesome and I love the first 2 parter with him. He's probably the most "out-there" person for batman to fight seeing as how he can morph into just about anything. No other villain gives a fight like Clayface.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Scarecrow, and Riddler.

Spaceman Spiff
01-14-2002, 02:12 PM
1. Mr. Freeze
2. Joker
3. Ra's Al Ghul

5. Riddler

The Joker: To not have this guy on this list would be wrong. He's just awesome.

Two-Face: One of the most complex characters ever. When done right, this guy's the man.

Hugo Strange: I love pyscological villains. Hugo Strange is awesome.

The Riddler: Pretty much the same reason as Doc Strange. If anyone can find a really good Riddler story that really shows him as a cool villain, I wanna hear it.

The Scarecrow: Again, the psycological angle. I just love those guys.

Runner-ups: Everyone else :)

Joker, Catwoman, Two-Face, Ra's Al Ghul....

the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne!

Well, he/she (has anyone ever considered that it could have been a woman?) isn't in my good books, but he/she is just too mysterious not to mention!
