I was just thinking about something, WB constantly checks up Toon Zone for feedback and such, alot of us seem to be really talented writers and artists, and yet are talents go unused and ignored, I mean it is a bit of a tradgedy, when you think about it, but ahh its the society we live in I guess, I suffer through classes of chemistry which I suck at, which damages my GPA, which damages my college transcript, which lessons my chances of getting the animation jobs I dream of, while Johnny mediocre who went to Harvard becuase his daddy was rich, steals it, I have no interest in any feilds but enertainment...oh I wish I could get my DTV scripts picked up :(....

OK i know I sound like I'm whining but don't you think WB should let us, write one of their scripts or something? we are their die hard fans here...of their content anyway...not their dvd department...but I just think we should be heard more, its like when they made Batman and Robin and got Akiva Goldsman to write it and Shamacher to direct...those aren't fans and their lack of knowledge of Batman and lack of interest killed what could still be a profitable series, we know what fans want becuase we are the fans, and thats how WB should think, and who they should hire, now granted Bruce Timm and the DCanimation teams ARE GREAT and I commend them, all their work is greatly appreciated, but WB are the ones truly missing out I think we got alot of creative talent at these boards that should be acknowledged.

I plan on making some animated short films in my lifetime, but I won't do Batman. It has already been done better than anyone could possibly hope for. Batman: TAS is one orginal that can never, ever be bettered.

I am sure there are people on this board that could write a smashingly great Batman story that would blow the socks off of WB...but you know it ain't gonna happen. If you want to show WB or anybody else high up that you can write the best darn stories about their character, work on your own characters first and do something original with them and show them that way. It's just like in comics; you're not going to convince Marvel that you are THE writer of the decade for Spider Man if you never did your own characters and stories first to show them what you are made out of.

WB already pays good money to creators to do the job you're also willing and able to do, so if you want to get the good money from them, focus on your stuff for now. Develop your own characters and universes and work on them and if it's good, it will get noticed. And then you can do the Batman stories you always dreamed of.

I wasn't exactly saying that I wanted the money to work for WB, I'm just saying there are alot of creative people on the board that are far better than many of the bozos they use. it was in a way just sort of a compliment to everyone here more than a complaint

Oh, I know. The "you" is a general "you" directed to anybody interested! :)

I think that WB has some people who's jobs are to scout the internet for feedback on certian things, but I'm not sure if anyone from WB actually looks at Toonzone. I don't think they get "ideas" from the internet though, just looking for responses. They'd be more likely to look at Smallville reactions than Batman stories though... Sucks for me and all of the other writers here at toonzone :(

--put, we don't belong to any union (for writers or voice actors). :( Fear of plagiarism charges/lawsuits creates ignorance and a stagnant creative climate.

One of the people who worked on the orignal Star Trek Series (it could have been Gene Roddenberry himself) said, "Look, if we did everything the fans told us to do, the show would be ****."

That statement is truer than most fans would like to admit. Tim Burton is often praised for his Batman, yet Burton has never read a comic book in his life. He's admitted it as recently as 2001 after Planet of the Apes came out. Can't trust anybody these days.

The last person to ask for any ideas are fans like me or anyone else. Just read the cast lists on some of the threads for live action movies on this board if you want a perfect example. I've never seen anyone agree anywhere close to 50% of other's cast choices.

Anyways, there is not training really for the entertainment industry. You either have an idea that sells and you climb the latter, or you don't. But it's not like these people have all the time in the world to read every fan fiction and movie script or look at every sketch or doodle under the sun.
