So for some reason i'm intrigued in getting this dvd set, the thing is i'm not sure if i should.

it always aired on CNl (mx) when i was growing up and i didn't really like it, too much, however when the real adventures started airing i feel really liked that show a lot and after that i remember wanting to catch the old show.

i'm not sure if i'd enjoy it though, there are some cartoons i didn't enjoy that i enjoy now, and viceversa, but i'm not sure if i should spend my money on it or not, specially the bad reviews i've read about it

on a different question, I'm a completist so how possible is it for the 80's season and telefilms to be released? i'm sure The real adventues will come out eventually.

I don't like the old series but i liked The Real Adventures series. I hope we get DVD sets. I can't even find it on eBay. Only a two episode DVD on Amazon.com.

I grew up on the old JQ. I have the boxset and love it. My kids like it too. The extras on the set are interesting. You have to remember that the original JQ was a breakthough in TV cartoons at the time. Guns actually shot real bullets instead of, gasp, lasers. And, the guns actually killed people. No parachutes when planes were shot down. It truly was and is a great series.

I enjoy the set, and love the show, but you may want to see if you can rent it before you buy it in an attempt to avoid buyers remorse. Also if you're a completist, you should be aware of the fact that there are two dialouge edits done to the set. On the episodes "Pursuit of the Poho", and "Monster in the Monestary". There are also some screwey end credit edits. You can find out more at http://www.classicjq.com/

As for the 80's show, ugh...I hope it doesn't come out. Same goes with the TV movies. Jonny's Golden Quest was complete garbage. They aren't even considered true canon by many fans. You can also read bout it on the same website I listed above.

I wouldn't mind the Real Adventures though. Aside from "Bangalore Falcon", they were all pretty good.

The original Jonny Quest is a great show. I highly recommend it. Almost every episode is fantastic. It's a really good show and the DVD is excellent.
