Shapeshifting - think of all the ladies you could pull with a slight tuck to the chin or a quick change of eye colour - the possibilities...!

Hmm, given the choice I'd take invisibility, but it's no up there.... Sooooo, I decided on Super speed, I figure that would be muy handy. Although Telepathy is very enticing. Heck, I want them all!

I'd go with super-speed anyday. It's just a totally cool superpower and you won't have to be late for school ever again. :p

This is a really interesting question when you think about it, because it puts temptation and opportunity in front of you. You can choose a powers that would be socially useful and which you wouldn't be tempted to misuse, and ones you are really tempted to use to no good.
So in my case, if I were to do the personally responsible thing I'd choose something like super strength. I have no interest in beating people up or breaking into banks, so I would probably find it easy to use only for things like rescue operations.
On the other hand, as SJJ points out shapeshifting can really come in handy when practicing the seductive arts. So that's one that, if I had, I'd almost certainly abuse horribly.
So putting yourself to this really is a test of moral fiber.
Oh, and before I even thought about it I went ahead and hit "shapeshifting." The stunning possibilities left me temporarily deranged. :D

Eh, that's sorta the reason I chose X-Ray Vision...
It's something I can abuse, but also, I could do good with it...working at the airport or whatnot...
I like the fact that it's not something that ppl would notice...unless I said something. It'd be my little secret...
That, and it'd be easier to get used to than telepathy...I don't want to know what other people are thinking about me..*sigh*

Bah! Screw the responsibility superhero stuff! If it were me, I'd totally use it to my convenience- and occasionally for good, of course, if I happen to see misdeeds being done.
Speaking of superpowers left out, you left out flight. :P Ah well.
I'd want to be telepathic, if only it could be offensive as well (Not only could I read thoughts, but do things like induce hallucinations and stuff). Relax- just because I'm scanning my teacher's minds for answers doesn't mean I'm on my way to destroying the world. ;)

10 slots isn't nearly enough...
Other cool powers include Super Healing (ala Wolverine)
Magic Use
Weather Control
Danger Sense
Super Senses...
Elemental control...
the list goes on...
*sigh* who's silly rule made me limit it to 10 anyway? =D

I'd probably be telepathic. That could be useful.
Or Super-speed. I could get places WAY faster, and use if I'm in a bad situation.

My choice would be flight which ain't listed. After that it would be either superstrength (I used to pretend I was She-Ra when I was younger... :D ) or teleportation. :)

--I want to fly. Though there'd be the temptation to fly everywhere, not walk and exercise, and end up with butter muscles. Morphing would be a close second. X-ray vision would scare me because with my luck all I'd see are folks' skeletons, and maybe concealed weapons (I know half the [expletive deleted]s on the streets in my old neighborhood carry a razor or knife or broken beer bottle or something on them; I don't need to have super powers to figure that!)
How about a novel power like hypermetabolism--eat all you want, never gain weight? Actually, I sort of do that already. Disadvantage there is, though, you couldn't ever get enough food. I toyed with a PPG FanFic using that idea for Buttercup, who as of yet has no "unique" talent, but couldn't make it dance....

Shapeshifting, hands down (or 'heads' down, if we're talking about the character in my handle...but I digress.)
If we're talking about all out shapeshifting abilities here, the package includes other superpowers with it!
Flight? Shapeshift into a bird (or just turn your hands to wings or something)!
Super-speed? Well, if you just want to run faster then a normal person, go for the centaur look and run like a horse. Go nuts and become a cheetah, even!
Super-snoopin'? "Bug" 'em!
Super-strengh? Baby, where does a 2-ton elephant sit? WHEREVER IT WANTS, PAL!
And if it's the kind of shapeshifting that you can alter your body into the shape and mass of inanimate objects, you could just shapeshift your limbs and be a cyborg!
And of course, there's always the art of seduction ;) ;)
BTW, second choice would have been Super-Speed. Must be the Sonic the Hedgehog fan inside of me talkin'.

I would say shapeshifting would come in awfully handy at times. But flying wouldn't be too bad either, especially if the old car ever broke down!

I have hypermetabolism. It sucks. I have to eat five meals a day just to keep my weight up :P

Teleportation would be great...I'd never have to fight rush hour traffic, hunt for a parking space, or be late to class again! Not to mention running errands would be a breeze...:D

I want Endokinesis! The power to make things cold! Yes, I'll leave a plague of goosepimples and mild discomfort wherever I may tread! You'll never be able to trust your toilet seat again...
*note: full name would be endothermokinesis, just in case there are any latin speakers here who are just waiting to tear into someone.

Other--
The ability to control time. I'd lead a perfect life. Whenever I screw anything up, all I have to do is throw up, rewind the clock and do it over and over again until I get it right! Would be great for tests, presentations, first dates, job interviews, sex, etc.,
And if I could stop time, I would have won some of my schoolyard fights. Throw a punch, freeze time, go behind him, shove the guy, unfreeze time...
And when I don't want to do anything, I can postpone it and postpone it until I am 100% ready to do it. I can spend a year on one essay, though I'd probably just do it in normal time and hand it in. When I get it back a week later, I'll check my mark to see if it's good enough. If it isn't, I'll just rewind the clock and do it again, hand it in, then fast forward back to the present.
Gambling. I find out who wins a sports game beforehand, bet on underdog teams that pull upsets, and win lots of money!
It'd be great!

I went for telepathy. If you want something done, get someone else to do it for you :D . Need something lifted? Strong next door neighbor won't think a thing of it. Need to get somewhere? That bus driver would be mighty willing to come back to get you. If you have control over a person, you can make them think they don't see you, thus invisiblity. Eavesdropping made easy, and if you are late to school/work, you can make the teacher/boss think you are there.
Once you have control over a person's mind, they are nothing but your puppets! BWAHAHAHAHAH!
Now where did that sixth voice come from? :D

I'd want super speed. I love to run, lol, track team would so rock then! Wait till everyone is half way around the track and then go,lol, that would so rock. Phasing or Telekinesis would be really awesome too though. And flying is always the best, how much fun would that be?

I chose shapeshifting. While having super speed or strength is nice, it is mainly for show. You can be countered easily. But with shapeshifting you can disguise yourself into other people, or animals, which, depending on what animal you chose, could give you the ability to fly, swim for long periods, have above average strength, see far distances and at night, all sorts of things.

I chose Super speed. I mean, Look at all the stuff Flash is able to do. Flight? Just run up a building or mountain. He's able to run across water. He can travel between worlds and through time if I remember correctly. Second choice is super intelligence because I always wanted to be a mad scientist.

My view is, the more applications your superpowers have, the better the power.
I choose other. Well, my superpower would be to be able to give stable, coherent mass to light and vice versa. Think about it. If you throw out the theory of relativity (most comics do)... that gives the ability of teleportation or superspeed (travel at the speed of light), The power to throw projectiles at over 3000000000 m/s (ooh, i like that), maybe the power to amplify light, creating light weapons... flight (by reducing your mass and gravity's effect) moving objects with your mind (turning them to light and then rematerializing them some where else), electromagnetism (light is a type of electromagnetic energy) The ability to create sonic booms, oooooo I SO WANT THESE POWERS!

Leaping Larry Jojo, that's a great power, I can't believe I forgot that- I'm always thinking "Dammit! Shouldn't have said that. I wish I could turn back time" or something like that.
As an aside, I once read a story where a teenager could stop time and come back whenever she was ready. The story ended with her dying of old age at 18 or something.

wow, I've gotten some really good replies...
and even more surprising...no one wants to be strong. Guess Flash is better than Hulk...

Above all, i'd really like to fly. But i won't say why, because that's not one of the choices :p
I guess next would be strength or speed. Can't chose really. I wouldn't ever worry about any kinds of trouble w/ super strength. But at the same time, speed would be nice too. Boy, i can't decide. Not including flight really threw me off :D

With great power comes great personal responsibility...
That's why you gotta use it wisely. I'm guessing that I probably spend 4-6 hours a day doing crap. So I can use that time to get everything I wanted to do done, provided that I still age in real time while I play with time.
On the other hand, screwing with the time space continuum can be disastrous, as meeting oneself can present several problems.

Shape-shifting, all the way. Because it would come in handy for when you lock your keys in your car... no problem! Just waggle that finger into a key shape and you're good to go!
