We have a thread on movies that need to be stopped from respawning...so how about the reverse...anything out there you think need a 2nd go?

Starship Troopers - set up for a second and I think deserved one too.

Flash Gordn - too late now, but I think that could have had a cult, camp and 'flashy' sequel too.

.... and Evil Dead 4! Someone should have the guts to finance that one!

Good one Maxie. That was some movie. One scene in particular is stored in the 'ol memory banks. ;)

The keep talking about another Buckaroo Banzai movie (GET THE DVD, by the way) and I hope it transpires, but at this point I doubt Peter Weller will play our hero. They will more than likely re-cast the role. I wish they had been able to make more when the could have had Peter Weller play Buckaroo, but I still want to see more movies in that series.

Unbreakable 2 is one that needs to be made.

Indiana Jones 4. They've been talking about it forever and it would be nice to see before Harrison Ford is cast to play his own father.

Star Wars Episodes 7-9. Hey, Lucas told us back in the 70s we'd get them, I think we should get them! And it would be real easy to bring back original cast members and have them play their older selves. It would be so perfect to make those three after episode three.

Twin Peaks. I know it's a TV series and all, but we got the prequel movie, it's time we get our movie showing how Bob is ultimatley defeated.

Unbreakable 2: Electric Bugaloo should definatly be made! I would really like to see that. The move grossed almost $100 mill domestically and about $150 mill around the world - so why not? Personally, I don't think I want to see an Indy 4, the trilogy is fine as it is right now as is. Hvaing a 4th would just be...weird..and with the track record of poor "4th installments"...I just don't think it's work out all that good. And Evil Dead 4 would be really, really nice....

Its not so much that Evil Dead 4 wont be financed(because Universal would be happy to do it..), its just Sam & Bruce didn't like the way Universal made them change the ending to Army of Darkness...so...they don't want to continue it from "S-Mart" outside of what the video game was.

ahem...sorry...getting off my Evil Dead platform for today.. :p

I know its not going to be out untill May...but you KNOW Spider-Man is deserving on a sequal already. Just pray that it doesn't become anything like Batman. There should be a rule, that really good movies can't have over 3 sequals.

From what I hear, the ending to Spider-Mna will definatly lead it open to sequels. Sam Riami said he's like to do a sequel after he gets some rest. I'm pretty convinced that Riami is the only person who can do these movies...his acrobatic and electric style is just perfect. X-Men 2 will be good, too...

masters of the universe. i actually enjoyed the movie, and at the end of the credits skelator comes out of the pit he fell in and is like "ill be back!" if that doesnt scream sequal, i dont know what does. im guessing the movie's failure made the intended sequal never happen. oh well.

I thought Indy 4 WAS being made...

And I second for an Unbreakable 2!

Indy 4 will be made whenever Spielberg and Sean Connery and Harrison Ford can ever work their schedules together. In other words, I don't know when it will be made, cuz those have to be three of the busiest guys in Hollywood.

Here's what I'd love to see

Unbreakable 2

Ghostbusters 3

The Fast and the Furious 2

Contact 2

E.T. Returns (Well they're rereleasing it, why not a sequel?)

I don't think we need a sequel to Fast & The Furious, even thought Universal is already going ahead with it (Ugh). I really liked the first one...but do we really need more? Then again - this could be a potential "Lethal Weapon"-esque franchise.

Calhoun07

Hey, that should go under sequels you don't want to see!
:)

JustJack

I dunno of Fast & the Furious has Leathal Weapon potential. I don't want it to. the first one ended JUST RIGHT!!

Ghostbusters 3!!! I would see that opening night, first in line. Hehe. I'd probably wait in line for 4 months to see it, to(a la Star Wars..). But stupid Bill Murray doesn't want to...grr...jerk. Not like he's doing anything else now. Besides, I loved that whole "Hell on Earth" plot they were going to use. Hehe. 4 men...vs....Hell. Thats fantastic!!
Then again, Harold Ramis keeps gaining & losing weight(which ruins the "tall skinny nerd" of which is Egon). Dan Akroyed is slowly becoming more senile. Bill Murray's hair is sooo white, now. Heck, Ernie Hudson is the ONLY one who still has the looks & body build to still carry a proton pack. Then again..its that "slob"-esque mentallity, that made GB1 & 2 so great....

Actually in one of the latest Insiders that had a Lucas interview he said that in 10 years if he's up to it and feeling like he can do it, then we might have a chance of seeing these films. 'Course he also said "but don't hold your breath" at the end, lol.

A movie that really needs a sequel is Zorro maybe? I dunno, I just posted here to say that part about Episodes 7-9. :D

I read an interview where Lucas added up how long this would take if he were to eventually go through with it, and it's safe to say he'd have to die, then come back from the dead and do post-production. But who knows, maybe God is a Star Wars fan. EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO BE.

That's true about Bill Murray. They need his permission to make it, and he refused to let it happen for years, until eventually Aykroyd and Ramis gave up on their script. The plotline I had heard of involved the old Ghostbusters training a team of new Ghostbusters. I guarantee that would've been awesome. Rumors back in the day named actors such as Will Smith and Chris Farley. This would've been a movie to remember. And I bet if it was made today, Jack Black would be so in.

I was just going to say that. Master of the Universe is one of my favorite movies of the 80's. I don't know why people beat up on it so much. The man who played Skeletor (Frank Langela) was wonderful in the role. He had so many wonderful quotes.

"Do you hear it...the alpha and the omega...death and rebirth. And as you die, so will I be reborn...*cue evil smile*"

Gremlins 3 The first two were great. I did however saw that there are plans for a Part 3, but I think they're in the script stage.
Ace Ventura 3 Even though Jim Carrey says he won't.
Dumb and Dumber Prequel I heard of this a while ago.
Independence Day 2 The mother ship could've called for help before they blew up. They could wait 10 years after the original release to show that it took 10 years for the rest of the aliens to come.

Actually, I read this on some website awhile ago, and it said that they're was originally was a script for a sequel but for some reason it got retooled as some Jean Claude Van Damn movie. I don't remember what the movie was though.

Do you know of the script plot that was gonna be used as Master sof the Universe 2? I always thought a sequel was in the works - and I wouldn't really mind seeing it. With current 80's nostalgia running rammpant, this would be a very cool thing to see. Image MOTU done with the lastest special weffects and CGI? Awesome!

There was a brief thing about it at the Internet Movie Database, this is all that it said

"After the credits, Skeletor's head pops up from the lake and says, "I'll be back!" which sets the stage for a sequel that was never made. However, a script for a "Masters of the Universe" sequel was written, only to be re-written and become the script for the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie Cyborg (1989)."

I doubt the original script still exists anywhere.

Yeah, I could actually see that working into the plotline pretty good. They're all old and washed up, just like they're real life counterparts, and they are called to action again. It could work!

But without Jim Carrey. A fellow poster suggested my Freakazoid FanFic would work as a partial draft for such a sequel--a picked-on high-school girl finds the mask and uses it to exact some nasty revenge on her enemies, then feels guilty about it and does heroics as penance. Casting call in the alley behind the Jenkins place.... :D

Y'know, I'd love a Mask sequel too. The first one was pretty inspired, and was a nice little tribute to Tex Avery. Development on a sequel began shortly after the first one bowed... but then Jim Carrey's dance card filled quick, and everyone was too skittish to make it without him. Ah well.

Whatever happened to Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money? (I think that was the title. Could be wrong.)

Wanna see a third Ghostbuster movie, a third Terminator movie, and a third Conan movie. And a third Rescuers movie before Newhart and Gabor get too old for it.

I'd also like to see the DS9 crew inerit the Star Trek movies for a while. Also, I hope the WB and Disney can someday, somehow, get that Roger Rabbit sequel back on its feet. I love the original.

And there WAS a second E.T. book written, though I think a second movie's a bad, bad idea.
