I'm sure you know cartoon network will be airing Batman and Superman cartoons the week of January 21, in a contest to see which one of them is a better hero, or at least a more popular one.(coughbatman) In case you haven't seen it on the news board, these are the episodes slated-

Batman- Deep Freeze,Blind as a Bat, Make 'em Laugh, Girls night out, Avatar,Riddler's Reform, Legends of the Dark Knight, Bane, Night of the Ninga

Superman-Bizzaro's World, Solar Power, Mxyzpixilated, Double Dose, Father's Day, Absolute Power, The way of all Flesh, Live Wire, Prototype

Then on Saturday there will be four more episodes of the winning cartoon.
So, my question is (finally!) What do you think of these episodes?Which ones do you think should be up there but aren't, which ones shouldn't be up there but are? What episodes should be played on the winning night? (I didn't see them listed, though they could be, somewhere.)

For Batman, I think the episodes Over the Edge, Robin's Reckoning (both parts), and Second Chance should be shown...

For Superman, I'd like to see the Legacy series, Apokalpyse Now series...

I agree on the Superman episodes they should air the" apokalips" now 2 parter & the "Legacy" 2 parter! For bats, "over the edge"," night of the creeper"," night of the ninja" & "Dark Knight returns". :)

I'd really like to see "Almost Got 'Em" and "Mad Love."

I also like the "Two-Face" two-parter and would like to see that again.

And of course any with TNBA Penguin ;)

The Riddler is my favorite villain (although Jim Carrey wasn't a GREAT Riddler) so I'll second "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich" or "Cry of the Minotaur" or whatever the name of the first Riddler episode is.

What's the name of the second one where Gordon is hooked in to a computer game (or computer, it's been a while since I saw the episode)??

Riddler appeared in three episodes-

If You're So Smart Why Aren't You Rich? Where he is fired, and puts his ex boss in the minatour maze.

What is Reality? Where Gordon is hooked up to the computer.

Riddler's Reform - He gets out of Arkham and works for a toy company.

The only one I liked the least was Riddler's Reform. I guess I was expecting more from it.

Looking at the list, how come there were only three episodes??

Sadly some good villains didn't get many episodes. Look at Mr. Freeze, he's a very prominent villain, and voiced very well by Michael Ansara, but he only had two BTAS episodes.

Don't forget, even though I understand he didn't have a prominent role, The Riddler was also in "The Trial."

In TNBA, the green-tight clad Riddler appeared in "Over The Edge" and "Judgement Day." He was also in STAS's "Knight Time."

Some of their choices are good, but some of them were bad. Absolute Power was an awful episode, and Prototype was so-so at best. They could have chosen a Toyman episode (Fun and Games being the only good one) and, maybe, The Late Mr. Kent. Darkseid gets way too much play.

Batman's choices are better, and he'll probably win anyway.

Someone on this board theorized that the reason The Riddler didn't have too many episodes was because he's such a difficult character to write for, since his schemes are always very clever and cerebral.

A very prominant role? He didn't speak in The Trial. If he doesn't speak, I don't think it counts.

The Riddler's appearences in TNBA were all small, bad roles. The Riddler definetley got the shaft when the show moved to the WB.

Sorry, dude! I've never seen that one, and the official BTAS website lists it as an episode appearance.

See for yourself

I don't remember those from TNBA or STAS. Hmm, it seemed like Freeze had more (heck, at least he had SubZero the Movie).

I haven't seen those either, I just got them off of TNBA website.

What happens when the winner is announced? Does the winner get a spot on Toonami?

BTW, I would have liked the Toy Man episodes more if I saw his face. That ticked me off (just like you never see Dr. Claw in Inspector Gadget). Besides, isn't Toy Man an old guy in the comics??

The winner gets the last two-hours of the Saturday marathon. Who knows maybe CN will be so impressed by the reaction that both shows will return, but nothing is definate.

Originally, both BTAS & STAS were going to return to CN this past Monday at 10 and 10:30 p.m. but then they pulled them a few weeks ago. With the BTAS DVDs coming out who knows if it will return.

Why are they pulling shows? First they pulled The Big O and now this?? What's going on?

I remember the last time they did Supes against Bats, and Bats won, that rocked. Maybe they'll let Supes win since Bats won last time...bummer. Anyhoo, I wished they had Robin's Reckoning in the line up, otherwise it all looks good.

Awesome, a Saturday marathon. I just wish I knew what else happens for the winner.

I'd like to mention another Batman epsiode that should be included in the block that no one has mentioned.

One of my favorites:The one with THE GRAY GHOST. What was the name of the episode?

The only thing that is supposed to happen is they get the last two hours of the marathon. Anything else that happens for either BTAS or STAS won't be as a direct result of who wins the contest.

I would have really liked to see The Late Mr. Kent- it's such a cool episode, you get to see how Superman works as Clark, and the animation was beautiful. Beware the Gray Ghost should probably be in there somewhere too.

The thing I'm most looking forward to is Legends of the Dark Knight- an episode I haven't seen! If they ever do get their act together over at Cartoon Network and start showing episodes again (for either series) I'll be sure to get every last bloody episode on tape this time.
