Just wondering since the game has been out for awhile now. Even though it may not have been as big a seller in the US as in Japan, for those who purchased it how many of you have been doing the daily exercises?

Please show me numbers saying the game "may not have been as big a seller in the US as in Japan".

PLEASE.

Because Nintendo has reported that Week Three US sales were higher than Week Three Japan sales.

I've been keeping up with it on a daily basis so far.

I usually do three to four of the excersices, but then again, I've only had the game for a couple of days, so I don't have that many activities unlocked.

I've had it for about a month now, and already I feel like my IQ had increased. One of the best DS games yet.
Heck, I don't even have to study for my finals now!!
... Good thing my parents didn't hear that.

A five-minute session in the morning helps me wake up a little. It was waaaaay worth buying.

I heard an ad for Brain Age on the radio today. It was proof to me that Nintendo is going after demographics beyond the regular gamer because I never hear ads for games on that station. They didn't even mention the DS by name in the pre-recorded ad (although the DJs mentioned it when they were talking about it live), they just told people to check out the Brain Age site to learn more.

I've basically decided to pick up a DS Lite when it's released. I think I might check this title out among others. :anime:

I did see a TV ad for it, and they do mention the DS, but there's no mention at all of Nintendo. They go so far as to refer to Nintendo as "a company." It's kind of funny; obviously they're worried that their name will make their target demographics see it as something that they wouldn't be interested in (which is probably true).

I try to and do it for most part. So far the most days I've missed are 3. I try to do it everyday but sometimes I'm lucky if I'm even able to touch the DS with how busy I am.

Wow, and I thought video game players wouldn't waste their time with educational games.

"Educational game" is a misnomer in this case... it's closer to a puzzle game, if anything, but even that's wrong.

I'm just saying gamers wouldn't want to play games that teaches you stuff that you could learn in school. They might find it boring. That's what I thought.

Brain Age doesn't teach you anything, it's a collection of cognitive exercises. It's not about "learning."

I don't find it boring at all.

I've requoted this, due to proof coming out considerably to the contrary.

With two of the nation's top-selling games and a hot new look to the hardware, the global Nintendo DS phenomenon has become more popular than ever. New Super Mario Bros. ® and Brain Age™: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day for Nintendo DS™ ranked as the No. 1 and No. 3 best-selling games of May, according to the independent NPD Group. And early reports from major retailers indicate that those same titles are being scooped up with the new Nintendo DS™ Lite in advance of Father's Day.

First off, Brain Age was the third best selling game of May.

* Major retailers report that sales of Brain Age (http://www.planetgamecube.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=11723#): Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day tripled over the previous week.

Second off, Brain Age has sold well with the DS Lite adopters.

Ok, but that was a month or so later after the intial post

it became kinda of a craze in Japan though IIRC

It's certainly not a craze in the US at this point, and by craze I mean what Pokemon did when it came to the US. It's selling well

Brain Age is now 20. And I am 20. As low as it can go. Always knew I was a smart little cookie, and I did it in 15 days.

I thought I was getting better...

The second day of playing, my Brain Age was at 31.

The third day, my Brain Age increased to 32...

Now, here I am, the fifth or sixth day, and my Brain Age is 40.

*siiiiiiiiiigh*

EDIT: Ha! I got it back down to 26, baby! Almost there...

Heh heh, I haven't done crap with Brain Age as of late. I've been too busy. I'm going to get on this week and see what the doctor says to me. He's probably going to give me an ass-whooping. :)

I bought my DS Lite and Brain Age a little over a week ago and so far I've taken time out for training every day. My brain age has gone up and down, but it's currently at 28 (I'm 31). I'm tempted not to test it for awhile since it's at a decent age. :p

I don't have all of the training exercises open yet, but my favorites so far are probably the two calculation exercises. "Reading Aloud" bores me a little (and I like reading...), and "Head Count" freaks my brain out every time when I get to that last set and people are running in and out of that little house at the same time. I'm actually embarrassed because I got a perfect score on it today by guessing on the last answer. I totally lost track halfway through, so I just guessed "4" and got it. lol! I guess from now on I should write 99 or something when I don't know....

What does everyone think of the drawing exercises? Or the times when the doctor asks you what you ate for dinner the day before, or what interesting news story you read yesterday? I suppose I can see the benefit from these opening activities, but I usually find them a nuisance that stands between me and my regular training exercises. (Then again, maybe I just feel artistically challenged when I compare my sketches to the doctor's wonderful drawings. )

I most certainly have not been keeping up! There are days I just forget, or am busy or just don't feel like thinking. The longest I've gone without playing so far has been five days. I'm glad to say that I've gotten my brain age to my real age (23) now. Actually, that was two days ago, and I'm afraid of it going back up again.

As far as the drawing and the questions before the training, I don't mind the questions, but the drawing annoys me. I enjoy drawing in reality, but drawing anything detailed with the stylus doesn't seem practical to me.

Also, am I the only person who hasn't had any trouble with the game telling "blue" from "black". I've never had any trouble, I say it just as I do normally, but most times I see someone talking about the game, they're complaining about that sort of problem.

Meh I think Big Brain Academy gives a bit more of an accurate bar to judge yourself than BA.

Allthough they are the types of cognitive tests I had to do when i was very young, except this time it's not in one of those rooms with that one way glass mirror.

Got it yesterday, and I'm 71!

Did it again today, and got down to 37 though, so that's not too bad.
