Thanks to YouTube, I was finally able to view the failed season 2 opening from NBC's "Scrubs", which features The Janitor. From what I heard, fans were displeased with this opening, and demanded that the original opneing be used again.

My question is this: Why did fans hate the opening so much? Upon watching it, I see nothing wrong with it (although my only real gripe is the choice to put the actors names in big font over the opening, which kind of are distracting from the main action). One person told me, fans hated it because of the inclusion of the Janitor. But, I thought the Janitor was one of the popular characters? It makes no sense.

I think the opening was just fine. What are your opinions?

Its the fact that the music is like the actual song( which is slower than the version thats alwasy heard now and from season 1 ), and the fact that the switching effect is replaced with a more blurry effect and it just doesn't work as well. When it all comes down to it the opening from second season is just too slow when everyone had been used to the original.

I thought they cut it because it was too long?

I thought they cut it because it was too long? That's what I thought too. I'm sure I read somewhere that it was the NBC execs that made the decision to revert back to the original. It's still on the DVD release of S2, so it lives on, somewhat.
