This hilarious ingoing saga has turned another corner as it's been revealed the boy band may still be in the movie. Oy! www.scifi.com reports:

Are they in or are they out? A Lucasfilm spokeswoman told SCI FI Wire that no decision has been made on whether or not boy band N'Sync will appear, however briefly, in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode II--Attack of the Clones, despite word that their footage has been cut. Band member Joey Fatone reportedly told a Florida radio show that negative fan reaction prompted director George Lucas to drop the boys from the movie.

Not so, said Lucasfilm spokeswoman Lynne Hale. "The N'Sync guys were shot as extras ... in a background scene," she said. "Whether that makes it into the movie or not won't be determined until [director] George [Lucas] has a final edit, and he won't have that until close to the time of release." Clones is slated for a May 16 release.

crimeny! lol

ah well. It does NOT matter to me. I was personally wondering how they'd be "cut" if they were extras...

Oh no, I thought we had put this thing to rest! Gah!

As I've said before, they'll just be in the background for a split-second even if they do make it in, so it doesn't matter to me.

Agreed...and I doubt we'll even see their faces, they'll just be random bodies among the other hundreds of extras.

What the-? Can we just move on? Oh why did they have to visit the set at all, we could have all been saved a lot of time. As long as they don't survive to be in any other ones, I guess I can stand it. Still not happy about them being in it, but I'll see it no matter what...

Well yeah I don't care either, it's just that it makes no sense. I mean the first time I saw the original Star Wars, Episode 4, in all it's wonderfull cinematic glory, the FIRST thing I think of is: "Giiiirl! Giiiiiirl! You know you're.....giiiirl! GIRL!"

Heck if they had bigger roles, even, and they did the job right I'd commend them. Not being as big a Star Wars nutt as the hardcore fans, I feel bad for the franchise when fans say the prequals will be/are all trash. :(

If the scene was filmed, I am sure they got paid their money. Do you see Kevin Smith running around crying because they never made his Superman movie? NO, because he got paid well for his work, and he doesn't care. NSuck got paid for their days work, and it's not like their career hinges on their appearance in Star Wars. I can understand wanting to be in there (who wouldn't) but, hey, the fans have spoken, they suck and we don't want them in there. They need to live with the fact that everybody hates them.

I thought this whole thing was over with, only to find out that they are trying to be in the movie anyway. We hate them enough as it is, are they trying to make it worse for themselves?

Dude, who cares. I can't think of a movie they could ruin for me just by doing a cameo. More power to them.

I agree, the fact that they'd be grinning with pride at their ugly putrid faces (masked or not) defied everyone and got into the movie SEVERELY bugs me.

Strange, as I'm not a HUGE Star Wars fan, and normally quite logical. However, I have played music for years and I suppose useless, puppeted morons like N'Sync epitomise what's wrong with the media today.

Of all SW fans, they really don't deserve to be in the film. If any SW fans deserve it, it's those fans who have had no moments of glory. N'Sync have them all the time and see no reason why they deserve more.

Now we should stop talking about this as by doing so alone we are giving them publicity.

Anyone catch SNL tonight? They made fun of the Star Wars/ NSync mess. They also had more "cameos" including Alf, Harry Potter, Mayor McCheese, and Yoda sporting sunglasses doing the Budwieser "Wassup!!!" Then it was followed by NSync singing the theme song for Attack of the Clones: This song is dope/ Help me Obi Wan/ You're my only hope.... too true to be funny :D

The SNL George Lucas interview was great. It reminded me of the old MAD TV one.

GL: "But does this mean that Star Wars...is...a religion?"

RP: "No..."

GL: "Actually...I wasn't talking to you. YES...it IS a religion. But does that make me a god?"

Lol. And all the Aunt Jar-Jar Mima stuff...

You forgot about the cardboard Cartman between Harry Potter.
But that cameos with Yoda saying Wassup was very funny.

I will only tolerate them if they are in a big Jabba the Hut suit together... :D

No, no, no, no. Here's my suggestions for N Sync's proper role, if any, in the SW universe.

1. They are slaves of a female or GM Hutt (with no taste) who makes them wear nothing, revealing nothing because they have nothing. ;)

2. Jar Jar leads them into the desert, starts talking in his real voice that resembles Clint Eastwood and proceeds to kill them slowly, painfully, and effectively.

3. The Fetts shake hands with 'em, secretly happy they have gloves on as not to get germs, and on go the flamethrowers. buh bye!

4. Anakin and Amidala are out on Hoth with them, freezing to death. Anakin and Amidala kill 'em, crawl into their skins and y'know....

Sounds good to me! Now they can know what we have to go through every time we hear an N'Sync song...

Sort of like the urban legend about the zookeeper who was giving an elephant an enema and was smothered by several tons of steaming flop, right?
Actually, I'd recommend they be eaten by some creature similar to Stephen King's Langoliers...nothing left, not even a bone.... :D
