Heya!

I was wondering: Since I'm subscribing to 'Tec, I'd like a little counterbalance/happier look at mankind. Anyway, which title should I subscribe to and why? There's:

Action Comics
Superman
and
All-Star Superman

Tell me what you think!

right now im gonna say all star superman. the current superman/action comics arc hasn't really been doing it for me. i am somewhat excited about the story now that superman has his powers back, but it was a somewhat long wait. if you were asking this question a few months ago, i would say adventures of superman. rucka's run was excellent. i suggest getting all of his superman trades.

here are the trades that make up rucka's run:
unconventional warfare
that healing touch
ruin revealed

The obvious answer is All-Star but it's hard to compare the three. All-Star Superman is more or less Morrison being allowed to screw around and tell incredibly bizzare silver age stories. It's awesome and I love it, but it's still a self-contained work. Action and Superman on the other hand have to function as in continuity on-goings with a lot of editorial mandates, Infinite Crisis, and 52. All three are awesome though.

If you're a fan of hardcore silver age Superman and Grant Morrison being out of his mind then All-Star is for you. If you want solid on-goings about the in-continuity Clark Kent, then Action or Superman.

The characterizations of Clark, Lois, Lex, and Toy-Man were so great that I really wouldn't have cared if they never gave him his powers back.

All-Star Superman is just so fun to read, and isn't that how comics are supposed to be, fun? So it has my vote.

While both Superman and Action Comics have been really picking up over the past couple months All Star Superman currently wins hands down. It's completely fun and enjoyable. Morrison is able to throw in so many ideas and is able to set the tone so it works. Plus the artwork is absolutely gorgeous to look at. DC Comics is on the verge of having three very solid Superman books and it feels great to want to actually pick up a Superman comic again after years of mediocracy.
