LOTR: The Two Towers rumor...

I heard this morning that there is serious consideration being given to releasing The Two Towers this summer. Since a lot of the CGI work is done, it could be possible, but would they do it?

That would be awesome if it was released early. But it might be jsut talk. I'm a bit skeptical.

Hmmm...hard to say...they did just boast up the LOTR: FOTR to a July DVD release date, so maybe they're gonna push LOTR2 to late summer, and LOTR3 to early spring. That would help people like me who are waiting for the sequel - but the summer is already so crowded with movies. I't dbe a safer bet to withhold it until December.

I remember Jackson addressing those rumors in a newspaper interview I read... he said that he'd love to get them out in the summer, but that all the special effects work that needs to be done would make that nearly impossible.

I read in an article a month ago that the name was being considered to change (can't have any references to twin towers after 9/11), but Jackson said he would not. The book is over fifty years old, so the name has been around longer than the event. Plus, he said the fans would crucify him if he did change it.
