Hey,

One of the coolest things about Marvel animation is that it gives us the rather unique oppertunity to see how the main characters meets his adversaries for the first time. Seeing as how most of the villains were introduced decades ago, it's nice to see an updated version of it. Marvel has had great success with thier Ultimate line, which is basically the same idea, but done in one monthly comic, which doesn't require decades worth of knowledge. It also allows new, fresh ideas to be included, whether it's a new costume, a new charaterisation or something else entirely.

We've seen a few aspects of the Ultimate universe leak thier way into animation, the main one being The Ultimate Avengers movies, but there's a few others, such as the revamped Wolverine suit in X-Men: Evolution.

Which of the ideas from the Ultimate universe would you eventually like to see done in animation? Why would you want to see it?

Id like to see the relationship between Scott and Alex Summers, except not have it be a murderous hate just be brothers who dont see eye to eye and sometimes get into heated arguments and fist fights. Not alot of stuff Id have from the Ultimate universe but this would be one.

I'd like to see the Ultimate version of the Rhino's costume be used in a future Spider-Man animated project.

It's just so cool-looking to me. Is that so wrong?

You are so right that you're just beyond right. You are so totally gone, beyond all debate that is not moot.

Anyway! If we're talking about Ultimate Spiderman, I think mostly all the main Ultimate Spiderman stories should be animated in some way. From Gwen Stacey's life to Spidey meeting and connecting with Johnny Storm, a lot was taken from the original days of the 60s and revamped into the 21st Century. All fans, young and old, should have exposure to that, and animation is one solid way.

I like the part of the FF in a school for genius and that's all I like of the UFF that's all for me.

Dude, did you not read the Namor or Zombie arcs? Zombies was such a fun ride and UFF is the best Namor has ever, ever been. A captured prisoner instead of a spoiled prince. Brilliant twist.

I'd follow the suggestion of Ultimate Rhino. There was something so utterly cool about seeing him completly tower over Spider-Man in the Ultimate Spider-Man video game. That one shot were Spidey spouts his "I am so scared I can't even finish my lame joke..." is exactly what Rhino needs to be in the next cartoon. Huge, scary and menacing. I could do without the nerd inside him though.

Ok I agree with you about Rhino I'm not a big gamer but I played the game this weekend and it's pretty good. I really enjoyed the story and the designs even if well they are Ultimate.
And yes the Namor one is cool (The lil parts I can remember at least) but I don't like the origin I don't like what they did with DR. Doom even if Jhonny has a good design.

Wha attracts me to the "Ultimate Characterization" of Marvel Heroes in animation is how they can strip it down to the basics of what makes these characters work and then updates or changes them just so. I'm not saying it's better than the mainstream version as people prefer one over the other (I like the idea of having both) but I think it's the right approach. But besides the animated version is just another version of these characters. They may be based off the "Ultimate" version but those "Ultmate" versions were just based off the mainstream ones to begin with so we're just getting another variation of the same character. I like seeing multiple approaches to the same characters.

Same here. Over in the Ultimate Hulk thread, I thought it was interesting to see how a lot a people liked either one or the other, whereas I think both are pretty cool. As Arsenal pointed out over there, having an almost evil version of The Hulk makes the Jeckel/Hyde situation all the more interesting, but to me, a big part of 'normal' Hulk's characterisation is that he doesn't want to hurt anybody - he simply wants to be left alone, and only attacks people who aim to hurt him. I really like both characters, I don't especially find one to be more interesting than the other - I'm just glad they're both interesting. :)

The same goes for me. I like seeing how Hulk struggles with just wanting to be alone and dragging Banner through that misery. But it is also really interesting to see him let loose and see the type of damage he can do. The Hulk becomes truly frightening when he's unleashed completely but it quite sympathetic when we see him just wanting to be secluded and alone. I think The Incredible Hulk cartoon from the 1990s did a good job making a sympathetic Hulk while Ultimate Avengers showed us what could go wrong when he gets out of control.
