Most people who read the JLU comic watch the show, so why not have the comic be a continuation of the animated show? Show the fallout from the final episode and continue on from there.

Not with Adam Beechen (that's his name right?). If they picked one of the better DCAU writers like Ty Templeton or had a JLU series writer have a run on it I could see it working, otherwise it's just going to be Adam Beechen's silver age stories that are occsionally entertaining and make no effort to tie in with the show.

I have faith in Adam Beechen in his writing of JLU, and I think I saw it mentioned somewhere on these boards that the creative team was told specifically that they couldn't advance any major plotlines of the cartoon series. Basically, their hands are tied.

I think they should have went the alternative universe route ala marvel's Extreme series from the start. They could still do it but I seriously doubt they are that smart.

the way the stories are written any of them could take place after "Destroyer" anyway.

Well, I'm starting to see some light in JLU 21 regarding continuity-related storytelling. Catch the review and preview pages of JLU 21 at www.metrotower.jlwatchtower.net (http://www.metrotower.jlwatchtower.net)

I almost don't want it to because that make you have to take what they've done so far, seriously, and what they've done so far is crap.
As for not being able to advance storylines, the original Batman Adventures didn't, but it was still good. Hell, the JLU comic brought DARKSEID back to fight Supergirl. If that doesn't screw everything up I dunno what does.
The new Batman Adventures got REALLY good after the show was over though...*sigh*

yeah they could do that.I mean it isn't that hard but they might do a few errors in the story when you wanna continue from here.

Yeah, the new Batman adventures was on-par with the best of the show. And they did a lot of new stuff with the characters.

I'm going to miss that!
The New Batman Adventures was a Great comic book series, maybe if JLU Unlimited comic book series was to continue then they can also improve on their storywork... :sweat:

5 words;

Ty Templeton and Rick Burchett.

I'd love to see them do this, if only because the majority of what I've read of Justice League Unlimited is pretty crap, and the potential for it to be oh so much better is there, and it's being begged upon.

But that would imply that DC comics would have to care about the quality of thier children's books, which they don't.

I think it could continue where the series left off. But what if they do some fill in stuff. Stories that could fill in between the last 13 episodes where the JLU could be taking on the LOD. That would be great. And you could get Luthor and Grodd in those stories as well.

I don't know how much longer this comic will run, but I'd venture to say that if it keeps going for a few more months, there's a chance that they'll try to build on or continue from the events of the last episodes. The comic hasn't shied away from making references to events on the TV series, and I don't think the TV finale would stop the comic if it's greenlit to continue. Of course, the cartoon writers never paid heed to the comic, and often the cartoon would contradict the comic.

That said, I felt the writing and the art were rather subpar, and I'd rather end my exposure to the DCAU with the cartoon and let the comic be. It never satiated my desire for more DCAU stories. You know how some people debate whether or not JLU is for adults or for kids? There's no argument necessary for the comic version; it reads far more simplistically.
