I know, I know. Yee purist of anime will want to kill me for this thread but I think it would be awsome to see live action cowboy beebop movie. A triliogy would be great. Three parts based on Ballad of fallen angels, Jupiter Jazz and The real folk blues. Here is my casting.

Director: John Woo (the show looks like it was directed in his stye already)

Spike:Heath Ledger(the patriot, a knights tale)- A very good actor with the looks and the attitude to make spike cool.Just look at the hair in a knights tale to see why he would make a good spike.

Jett:Robert Duvall(gone in 60 seconds) A good tough guy old mentor type.

Faye: Shanon Elizabeth(american pie, scary movie) Snotty, attractive and looks good with a gun.

Ed:open casting

Vicious: Christian Bale(American Phsycho) Sharp dresser, commanding presence and scary as hell.

Julia:Gena Gurshon(Driven) Normal, the most dangerous type of normal.

I don't see it happening, especially with Cowboy Bebop. Doing a movie of just those select episodes wouldn't work anyway, you lose the effect somewhat without some length of time between them. In other words, Cowboy Bebop works great as an animated TV show. Not as a live action movie.

Shannon Elizabeth as Faye? *pukes*

It would be interesting, but some things wouldn't go really well into live action....like Ed's body movements, Spike's hair-do, Jet's whole look.....the actors would just look silly. At least in animation they can get away with it.

--if they ever did a Bebop movie, I'd proudly shave my head and regrow my sideburns to play Jet. He's only 36, I learned--which is shocking; I'd have sworn he was near 50.
How about Winona Ryder as Faye? Or is she on some Hollywood blacklist after her little brush with the law?

Faye is slightly Asian. Singapore or Malaysia, I think.

We need some J-pop star for Faye. She's too incredably good looking for an anime character for some american star!

Singapore. The lion fountain that keeps coming up from her past is the famous "Merlion" of Singapore.

Well obviously they wouldn't just be re-makes of those episodes. They would be based on those episodes with elements of other episodes added in. Alot of the episodes them selves were based on alot of movies, Bruce Lee movies were a major influence. Certain movies come to mind when I think of the stunts shown in cowboy beebop. Any Bruce Lee movie, any John Woo movie, the big hit, Alien and x-men(just cause people said it couldn't be made to look right)

I do apologize for Shannon Elizebeth as Faye. I really couldn't think of anyone at the time. but I have now.

Faye-Tandi Newton(Mission impossible 2) part asian and very exotic with a dangerous feel.

well, there technically is a Cowboy Bebop movie. I think it takes place inbetween episodes 21 and 22 or sumthing like that. called Knockin on Heaven's Door (very catchy title). But it's not live action, like what you're talking about. It might be released on the big screen in the u.s., but nuthing is for certain yet. on the same lines, the Escaflowne movie is being released this month in select IMAX theatres. Anywho, i see it this way. Each episode is 20 minutes long (almost exactly). 5 episodes=1 hour 40 min. 26 episodes=5 movies of 5 episodes, with the last one being 2 hours long because of the last episode. I seriously think Cowboy Bebop on a big screen with surround sound would draw a crowd. That's my crazy dream.
