Have any of you heard of this anime "FLCL"..which is otherwise known as Fooly Cooly?
The best I can figure, its about a kid, who wants to be normal, but as his "big star" brother leaves, & all the attention falls on him, alien girls & robots fall into place.
And its made by the peoples who did Eva & GITS, am I right?
So, who knows what about this? Is it any good?

The hype is that it's made by Gainax. That explains everything.
And Gainax had nothing to do with GITS, if you mean GHOST IN THE SHELL.

I love the end credits guitar theme-thingy. . .
You're pretty much right on all counts. Very bizarre, very cool, and too short.

i thought it was supposed to be "Furi Curi?" whatever. anyway, i ran into a website that had the following quote:
"Watch End of Evangelion when crack is not enough. When End of Evangelion is not enough, watch Furi Kuri."

Furi Kiri (sp?) is what all the fans thought it would be called but due to pronounciation difference between English & Japanese (if I remember right they don't have different sounds for r & l hence the reason many non-US native Japanese & Chinese have trouble with words with those letters) the actual name is Fooly Cooly (hence FLCL). That's official title expansion according to the director (or producer). It raised quite a few hackles on the AnimeOnDVD.COM message boards (not enough to make anyone not want to buy the DVDs, though)

Yeah there's a lot of confusion about DBZ names too cuz of that. Like, we write "foo" while the Japanese language writes "fu." Same sound.
Well a dear dear friend of mime who provided me with the DBZ movies I have told me to ALSO download the first episode to "FLCL" and it confused the bajeebas out of me! I had no idea what was going on! All I remember was a kid with a bandaid on his head where a gigantic robot shot out of. :) Crazy times, crazy times. The animation was nice though...
