How could they possibly make a film out of Where's Waldo? How would that work? How would they do the scenes where you have to look for him?

Could this be the worst idea for a live action adaption ever thought up?

Did you read the article or just get freaked out first? I did, it was announced back in 2002 (when people still sorta cared about Waldo) and the project was cancelled two years ago.

The right are apparently back on the table, but that doesn't mean there will be a movie. Someone has to want the rights first. Plus it's on a Waldo Wiki. Not only does that mean someone cared enough to actually create a Wiki just for that picture book series, but that I could go in there and say Tom Cruise is rumored to play Waldo.

They'd have to change the title to 'Where's Waldo's Sanity?' if that were to ever happen.

LOL! I don't know whether that would be actually funny to watch or just plain agonizing.

If they did plan to make a movie, how the heck are they going to make it work?
Let's see...maybe poor ol' Waldo got mixed in with an assassination of a political head figure and got framed for it. Now Waldo is in hot pursuit by a team of professional and tactical group of government agents. Watch, as Waldo travels all around the country confusing the heck out of agents with his insane power of the red and white striped sweater of his. All in a days work so he can right all the wrongs!

Agent 1: "Freeze! Don't move!"

RandomguywholookslikeWaldo: "Oh my god! I didn't do anything."

Agent 1 takes a good look at the guy and realizes that it's not Waldo. Elsewhere, Waldo is whistling while he's getting a hotdog at a vendor.

It's not such a crazy idea if you've ever seen the Saturday morning animated series from the 90's. Waldo would have all kinds of crazy adventures through time and space, visiting various exotic locales. I remember it being a cool show. At the end of every episode, they would show you a picture and you had to find Waldo in the time allotted (then they would show you where he was).

I had like four of those books. A blue one, yellow one, red one, and Where's Waldo in Hollywood? I also remember at one point, didn't they rerelease the books, but with Waldo hiding in all-new spots within the same scenes? I didn't get those.

If nothing else, imagine the teaser posters such a project could produce.

Now that I think about, instead of having the audience looking for Waldo they could hide various clues around and the audience could look for those. That could be good.

Who could play Waldo? I can't think of any actor who would be right for the part.

I'm sure that either Will Ferrell or Cedric The Entertainer will land the role.

only if owen wilson or snoop dog turn it down since it seems like they legally have to be in almost every film produced.

If they can make a movie about a story that had a paper thin plot like the Cat in the Hat, then I wouldn't be suprised if they made something with no plot.

Cedric the... how could a fat black guy play a skinny white guy?

Yeah, like that Hungry Hungry Hippos trailer on Sunday's episode. Screw Waldo, I'd rather see hippo cops eating people. :D

Any white thin guy would do. Some hair dye, glasses and the correct costume would work.

Rick Moranis came to mind shortly, but then I realised he isn't tall enough.

Mo Rocco could always do it. They fun of him in I Love the 90's during the spoof of Waldo. Mo does look alot like Waldo and I agree on that. He's the perfect man to do that plot.

One thing I'd like to know is, if this movie does get made and is released in the UK, are they going to keep it as Where's Waldo or re-name it Where's Wally
