View Full Version : "X-Men: Evolution" Charges Up the Saturday Morning Competition

BURBANK, CA (January 10, 2002) — On Saturday, January 5, X-Men: Evolution, at 10:30 a.m. ET, charged up the Saturday morning broadcast competition to lead as the #1 program in Kids 2-11 (3.5/13), Kids 6-11 (4.1/16), Boys 2-11 (5.3/20) and Boys 6-11 (6.1/24). The high-adventure series also ranked #2 for the morning among all competition, including cable, and achieved significant ratings increases over the parallel time period a year ago in Boys 2-11 (+33%) and Boys 6-11 (+30%).

Kids' WB! dominated as the #1 broadcast and cable network for the morning in Boys 6-11 (4.5/22). The network continues its reign as the #1 broadcast network among Kids 2-11 (2.5/12), Kids 6-11 (3.0/15) and Boys 2-11 (3.7/17). Among Kids 2-11, Kids' WB! beat CBS (1.8/9), ABC (1.8/8) and Fox Kids (1.7/8).

Rounding out the morning as the #2 broadcast program was Pokémon: Johto League Champions, in its 10:00 a.m. ET time period, among Kids 2-11 (3.3/13), Kids 6-11 (4.0/17) and Boys 2-11 (4.9/19). The animé series also ranked as the #3 program among the broadcast and cable competition in Boys 2-11, as well as ranking as one of the top 10 programs in Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11.

The Nightmare Room, at 11:00 a.m. ET, posted a 5.9/22 in Boys 6-11 to finish the morning as the #2 broadcast program and as the #3 broadcast and cable program. Based off the scary-fun books from famed children’s author R.L. Stine, the live-action series ranked #3 among the broadcast competition in Kids 2-11 (3.1/12), Kids 6-11 (3.7/14) and Boys 2-11 (4.8/18).
