I find it kinda abomidable that you would make a post like this, and put 9/11 in it.

It would be abominable if he made a post like this and didn't put 9/11 in it. But maybe you're offended because the whole topic itself seems to be put in a humorous light. And what is it with the hyphens?

It is inhuman to compare the loss of thousands if human lives to something so stupid. What about ppl who lost friends and loved ones!

I disagree with #4. Anyone replacing Rosie (short of Cathy Lee) is desireable.

Hey, it DID make number one on the list...

I thought the useless nature of this thread had to do with it's mention of 9/11, but only at first. The only offense that this discussion could spark is that by those who are trying so extremely hard (maybe even too much) to prevent it.
This thread is pointless and has no direction. If it doesn't find one it will be deleted, as any post like this would. And if any other mod wants to take that or any other responsibility on this thread feel free.

I don't think there is a problem here. The guy is from New York - I don't see why he shouldn't post it about his city. He isn't ridiculing the event - in fact, a light hearted attitude sometimes is the best way to continue forward.
The way I see it, if you don't like the thread, don't post in it. It's clear what it's about. If no one is interested in it (or like me, someone who lives too far away from NY to comment - even in a humourous vein) then it will disappear pretty quickly and be forgotten about - as is the nature of a popular board!
Must confess, I do see very little direction to it now I come to think about it!

Just my personal thought. This is about expressing opinions, I am sorry if I sounded harshe. But, SJJ, you seem to be doing the same thing you said I did.

All have our own opinions. I have no problem with the topic, but I must confess I agree it hasn't anywhere to go (providing we don't keep bumping it up with posts like this! :D

I'm not offended, but maybe he could give a little background on the other four worst things.

Sometimes laughing is the only way to keep from crying... Down here in Austin, TX, I cried when I watched the horor unfold before my eyes on TV. And I'm a full-grown 24 yr. old man!
I watched a lot of comedies on TV and from Blockbuster that month. And so did all of the U.S. and Canada -- FOX News reported that Blockbuster was getting amazing results (like 4/1 comedies over everything else) at their rental counters in Sept. 2001.
Anyway... I think he's trying the "laughter is the best medicine" technique here. I don't blame him for trying; Sept. 11, 2001 will NEVER go away, and we all have to laugh again eventually...
God bless the USA! Down with al'Qeada! Down with Osama Bin Laden!

I don't know much about the other three, but I'll take Caroline Rhea over Rosie any day of the week!
Success made Rosie weak and less funny. I liked her better when she was angry and hosting VH1's comedy showcase!

I think some people got anthrax letters in New York too, but I guess if you really liked Rosie, YOU GOTTA PRIORITIZE YOUR LIST.

She ticked me off over the way she ambushed Tom Selleck over guns. That was pretty irritating in itself. but then you add to it the fact that she was doing promotion for K-Mart at the time. I buy most of my ammo at K-Mart. Can anyone say hipocrit?

--I never like to wish ill on anyone, but I came quite close to saying "Ha-ha! Good!" when I heard she sliced open her hand with a box cutter and it became miserably infected.
And, my hyphenating friend, if you mention the woes of New York, you can't forget the Guliani sex scandal. Clinton did far worse yet is practically a god on earth, only by virtue of his politics. That I don't get.

I think #5 on the list basically covered that :)

Hehe, and let's not forget one of Rosie's prerequisits for being a Newy Yorker is when the trouble gets things to hot in the kitchen you put your show in reruns and leave the state.
I don't watch Rosie, but boy was that a punch in the gut. :p
