I remember seeing a commercial for "The Lost Episodes" of the X-Men cartoon. From what I have read someone there were four episodes that Fox was going to air but didn't get a chance to due to some dispute with the production company. There was going to be a two part episode involving Rachel Summers and Days of Future Past. I think it was called "Phoenix from the Future".

Does anyone know anything more about these episodes? Have they ever found their way to the public? I think these would be perfect bonus material for season five if Marvel ever gets off their behinds and releases box sets of the series.

I dont know about this, this story sounds pretty hard to believe. I would think that if this was true after this much time that these episodes wouldve made it on the air at some point, or atleast there existence become more widely known.

I do however know there were a handful of episodes that were made for season 3 of X-Men:TAS but that didnt get aired until season 5. Cant remember there names off the top of my head though, but i do know they really had nothing to do with the Phoenix though. One i believe involved Long Shot and the other involved Cyclops going back to his old orphanage.

Yes No mutant is an island and Longshoot as far as I know, I found no info about Lost episodes, so I believe they don't exist

I find this a bit hard to believe myself. Something as big as this wouldn't stay hidden for as long as it did. Besides no episode guide or animated X-Men website has any mention of these. If there are any "lost" episodes it is probably just abandoned script or story ideas.

The commercial for the "lost episodes" aired in 1997/1998 on Fox Kids. It was a commercial for nothing more than repeats of previous episodes, advertising older episodes as "lost". I'm not completely sure, but I believe it was based upon another show...maybe the X-Files? Nevertheless, you can download the commercial and see it for yourself: http://www.blastfromthepasttv.net/xmenlostfiles.zip. Hope this clears some things up.

It sounds like a promotion similar to NBC's "It's new to you" for their summer repeats. I don't like advertising like this. It's really misleading.

Can't believe that was actually out there somewhere. Thanks for the find.
