I'm thinking of getting this show on DVD, however since it's been so long since I saw it (at least I think I do remember watching it on TV years ago) and I don't really remember anything about it
Is the series worth buying on DVD?

For nostalgia alone, I'd say yes.

The character design on that show is rather unique... the famale is rather nice looking though hehehe.
I'm not even done watching 1 episode I'm already getting tired of that annoying duck's voice! Dang he's annoying! The baboon is obvious inspired by Mr. T so that's a plus :p

If you generally dig late 80s/early 90s action cartoons, then you'll love Bucky O'Hare. Lots of story continuity and characterization for this period in animation, and the entire 13-episode run is a nice mini saga with a beginning and end. It's very much "Star Wars" with animals.

You know, I remember the first season ending on a cliff hanger. Was there ever a second season?
I had all the action figures as a kid. It pissed me off that they never made a Jenny figure.

I'll have to second all that. It was one of my personal favs from the 80's. It should have lasted longer than it did. Somebody back me up here, but it was a comic book first, wasn't it?

Yeah. One of the differences in the comics was that
The original Berserker Baboon enginner was not sucked into an alternate dimension - he was roasted to death when the engine malfunctioned

From what I remember,
The toad wars ended, Bucky's home planet Warren was restored, and you see a hare family thanking the crew of the Righteous Indignation

Yeah I think that for a cartoon of the era it wasn't bad at all. I've certainly seen worse stuff from that time.

Well, there was an arcade game that supposedly "finished" the story.

Its existence prevented the production of an Usagi Yojimbo cartoon, so I'm bitter.

Yeah :p
"Captain Bucky O'Hare! He goes where no ordinary rabbit would dare!"
I'd like to see the first episode.
I seem to recall watching an episode where the entire crew ended up landing in Willy's bedroom...did they ever do an episode in Willy's world? That would be one of my first reflex writing this show XD
