This is something I wrote recently and submitted for inclusion in a school publication. I usually tend to write short stories, but I find there are times when there are certain ideas, thoughts, or emotions that need to be expressed and are best suited for something that's shorter and less elaborate (but just as potentially beautiful).
Invisible
Each day, existing as a ghost.
Desperate.
Just wanting to be seen.
My words,
My actions,
They change nothing.
I remain invisible.
And you…
Radiant, carefree,
Engaged by seemingly everyone.
Except me.
So much to offer.
So much to give.
What must I say?
What must I do?
You….
To the world, maybe just one person,
But to one person…
…this person…
You are the world.
There is nothing I wouldn’t give.
Nothing I wouldn’t do.
All I seek is the chance.
One chance to give everything,
All that I am,
Nothing held back.
Invisible
Each day, existing as a ghost.
Desperate.
Just wanting to be seen.
My words,
My actions,
They change nothing.
I remain invisible.
And you…
Radiant, carefree,
Engaged by seemingly everyone.
Except me.

So much to give.
What must I say?
What must I do?
