I suspect that whenever the live action Iron Man film comes out, Disney will release a set of Iron Man cartoons. Like the Fantastic Four release before it, it will probably be from both seasons of the 90’s animated series; though I’d love it if they included the 60’s series as well. Call it "The Iron Man Anthology".. have some interviews with key Iron Man writers/artists over the years..

and I'm glad there's a new regular series in development.. neat.. (but it'd better have top notch animation this time)..

Your suspicions about Iron Man are quite logical. However, with Disney releasing nothing to coincide with the release of X-Men 3 (a distinctly illogical move), part of a proven profitable franchise, I personally wouldn't get my hopes up. That is, unless by the time an Iron Man movie comes out, Disney have either committed themselves fully to their Marvel acquisitions, or simply someone else who cares has gained the rights to the two Iron Man series.

Hype, I've gotta agree with Jon T. I think the odds are 50/50. There really is no predicting Disney. Though I'd be willing to bet that if it is released we won't get the complete episodes.

So are you guys saying Fantastic Four was just a fluke? When the Spider-Man movies came out, they released Green Goblin and Doc Ock-themed episodes, right? I only assumed they didn't come out with the entire series was because there were so many episodes that it would have to come in a few volumes (which would be awkward to time with movie releases). Maybe X-Men just wasn't focused enough.

Fantastic Four only had two seasons, all the episodes were in one set. It was cheap, it was easy. I expect Iron Man to be the same way (meaning I don't know how good our odds of an Iron Man Anthology are).

I hope we get those Iron Man cartoons some day. Having only one half of the Marvel Action Hour feels so incomplete. I feel like I'm 9saronMn

Not at all. But since there isn't a release scheduled for the X-Men this month (with X3 coming out) all we are saying is that the Marvel cartoons are obviously not a priority to Disney. Therefore there is no way to predict if Iron Man will get a release or not.

I think the Goblin and Daredevil S:TAS releases were because Disney just hadn't realized that there was sales potential in season sets at that time. They had finally started doing season sets for other shows before the Ock DVD came; so that means they chose not to release a season set for S:TAS then. I think they believe there is more profit potential by releasing the theme discs for a while before considering releasing a season set of S:TAS. And they may be right. I'm sure there are a lot of people who have bought all of those discs and would still buy a season set if released. That way Disney gets to double their money.

Given that the villains in Spider-Man 3 are pretty much confirmed to be Venom and The Sandman, Disney is pretty much screwed for single release tie ins from Spider-Man: The Animated Series - all the Venom episodes are on already on disc, and the Sandman never appeared in the show.

It'll have to be a set, or they could be foolish like they are with X-Men and simply ignore the demand for the sets.

I really doubt we'll be seeing any more big releases like Fantastic Four. I just doubt it especially since they could've easily released a box set for X-Men and it would've sold alot more. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney is just sitting on these properties and waiting for their rights to expire. Did't Disney have a second X-Men DVD planned that was only released overseas or something? If we don't get one for X-Men then it's pretty easy to predict we won't get one for Iron Man too. It's a shame because those collections would easily sell 75,000 - 100,000 copies.

I think Iron-man is less popular than the X-men so I have lil hope. Anyway the Iron-man movie cannot be released before two years or something like that no? That's a lot of time something can happen.
Do you think they are going to sell a DVD with episodes of Spider friends VS Sand-man I remember at least one.
I'm really sad because I really want to see this series specially the second season I read it's pretty good.
