(Open on: the Fortress of Solitude, decorated for a birthday party. Superman, Batman, Robin and Wonder Woman are present, with various Superman robots on the lookout, ready to vaporize anything related to alien orchids or Warworld rulers....)

BATMAN: Happy birthday, Superman... so, turning 29 again? (All but Batman laugh at what they think is a joke) (Pauses as all stop) No, *seriously*... aren't those writers ever going to let you age?!

SUPERMAN: (Flippantly) Nah... I'd lose marketability. Too bad those stupid DC editors and writers hosed Earth-Two *and* the chance recently to bring it back so they'd actually *have* characters that aged in real time along with ones aging glacially like us... (Looks up to see an angry Time-Warner exec holding a copy of "Infinite Crisis" and pointing to the oh-so-"realistic" and "mature" Black-Adam-pokes-Psycho Pirate's-eyes-and-brains-out-of-his-head "Three Stooges"-style scene, while making slashing motions across his throat toward Supes) (Nervous grin) Er, I mean, "so, who's up for birthday cake?!" Eh, heh....

--

Since good ol' Brainatra's having *another* flippin' birthday coming up (and continues his perpetual march toward being older than most of Toonzone's posters), thought this'd make an amusing poll topic: what episodes of our favorite shows have shown or mentioned A) a character's age (specifically or a general indication) and/or B) shown them celebrating a birthday?

To kick off:

The Simpsons:
- Bart's birthday was shown in both a Treehouse of Horror episode (the Krusty doll one) and in a regular episode (where he falls down the well). Turning 10, of course. :-)

- Homer's birthday is the "same day as the dog's" (per the X-Files crossover episode). Homer's age has been given as 36 (various earlier episodes), 38 (the love-tonic episode), and 39 (that Homer-imitates-Thomas-Edison episode); think most sources seem to go with 36 (since the Simpsons characters generally don't age) or 38 (since Homer went to his 20th high school reunion).

- Lisa's birthday was shown in the Michael Jackson episode; her age is given as 8 in various episodes.

- Maggie's birthday is seen in "Lady Bouvier's Lover"; she's one year old.

- Marge's birthday is seen celebrated in season one; there her age is 34, but is mentioned as being 38 in that burleseque-house episode (apparently just to make her the same age as Homer).

- Mr. Burns is 104 years old (mentioned various instances).

The Flintstones:
- The original series has had various episodes celebrating Fred and Wilma's birthdays. SPecifically one episode centers on Pebbles' first birthday (and the party for it that got out of control). No age was ever given for Fred, Barney, Betty and Wilma from what I recall (though of course they'd have aged from the original series to all the spinoffs with Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm as teens/married adults)...

Superman:
- In the comics of the 70's through early 90's, Superman's age was given as being 29 years old; after "the Death of Superman" and "Zero Hour", his age was bumped up to 35 in the comics (though the various movie/TV/cartoon spinoffs usually present him as around 30, it seems).

Superman's birthday in the comics was (at least pre-Crisis) given as being on February 29; said birthday came into play in the classic story "For the Man Who Has Everything" (also turned into a "Justice League" episode) by Alan Moore.

Batman:
- Usually in the comics shown as either the same age or a few years older than Superman (would assume the same for the various media spinoffs IMO---don't buy the line of argument that the B:TAS Bats is pushing my parents' age as various posters in that thread on the DCAU board are arguing...).

Bruce's birthday in the comics (at least pre-Crisis, though not heard any evidence to contradict this) is given as February 19. Don't know of any stories/cartoon episodes showing him celebrating it, though...

Dastardly & Muttley in Their Flying Machines had two birthday episodes, although ages are never specified. "Sappy Birthday" concerns Muttley's birthday (he even points to the date on a calendar), and in "Happy Bird Day", Dick Dastardly thinks it's the general's birthday.

I believe that when the series started he was 36, but during Season 8 (when Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein ran the show) his age was bumped up to 38.
So yes, officially his age is 38.

In that one Spongebob episode where he gets his license in his dream, his birthdate is briefly shown, and the year is about 1978-1979, which would make him about 20-21 years old when it was released in 1999.

Family Guy has shown at least Stewie's (with him mistaking it for a plot to put him back in Lois' womb) and Peter's (with him realising he hasn't achieved much).

I'm pretty sure Gohan's birthday was seen in DragonBall Z.

The Wrong Trousers begins on Gromit's birthday.

I have the DVD box set of that show---according to it, Muttley's birthday is April 16.

Birthdays for a ton of anime characters:

Also, IIRC, a Batman comic in the 80s pointed to the Joker's birthday being in the last half of February, the 21th maybe.
