How many movies can you think of that shows a character watching classic cartoons?
Bugs Bunny's Christmas Carol is featured in Lethal Weapon
Mickey's Trailer in The Outsiders
Springtime in One Hundred and One Dalmatians
The Wacky Wabbit in a TV movie called David's Mother, which is about a mother who struggles with her retarded son
That's about all I can think of at this point. :yakko: :wakko: :dot:
Close Encouters of the Third Kind: "Duck Dogers and the 24th 1/2 Century"
A cheesy TV movie about killer cable boxes (forgot the title): "Ding Dog Daddy"
Can't think of any others at the moment.

"Chow Hound" was in Cats and Dogs.
Two gripes, though:
1) The soundtrack was obviously from "Hillbilly Hare".
2) Why show this cartoon in a movie where the dogs are supposed to be the heroes?

Also, there is a scene in the movie WILDCATS (with Goldie Hawn) in which you can hear the soundtrack to DUCK AMUCK.
RED HOT RIDING HOOD was in THE MASK.
So far that's all I know.

A clip from "The Milky Waif" (MGM) appears in the film Cat's Eye. In fact, you can hear the cartoon's music begin even before they cut to a shot of the TV.

In the McKenzie Brothers movie Strange Brew clips from the Tom and Jerry cartoons "The Flying Cat" and "The Little Orphan". Interestingly enough, the father's (of the McKenzie Bros.) voice is dubbed over by Mel Blanc, using his Yosemite Sam/Mr. Spacely voice.

-"Pigs in a Polka" Training Day

-"The Flintstones" Barney Rubble talks to John Cusack in Better off Dead and a character is watching the show in Night Shift
-"Doggone Tired" can be seen during the chase scene in Se7en

"Falling Hare" was played in a movie in which these kids lock thier parents in the basement to keep them from getting a divorce, and sound clips from "Chow Hound" were used in "Conspiracy Theory," I think.

Iffffff memory serves me...
Then Peter Bogdonavich's directorial debut "Targets" (starring horror-great Boris Karloff) featured a scene of a Roadrunner cartoon at a drive-in movie (even as the serial killer stalked...). (Also notable for a young Jack Nicholson on the screen!!) Buuuuut I've never seen the movie.

Yep, it does. The movie is about black stereotypes. There's also clips from "Jungle Jitters", "Scrub Me Mama with a Boogie Beat", and "Eliza on Ice". Spike Lee (the director) tried to have Warner Bros. allow him to use the scene in "Any Bonds Today" where Bugs immitates Al Jolson, but to no avail, for those who have seen the film.

That reminded me, I saw a movie on TNT a few years ago --- a rather bad horror movie involving the invasion of a small town by giant rabbits (seriously... ). Anyway, one scene took place at a drive-in, which was playing a Tom & Jerry cartoon on the screen.

Actually, Thad, the title of that 1966 Woody cartoon IS "Astronut Woody" except that it isn't hyphenated.
