Thoughts on the "Opus" comic strip?

What does everyone think of the comic strip "opus"? To me, while there are some great strips in the run, it doesnt have the same edge that bloom county and outland had. And steve dallas DOES NOT WORK as a parental figure,,sorry.

It doesn't have the same edge because Breathed is tied down by stronger content restrictions in this day and age. No more sexist "Men's Kouch" antics.

It's not really his fault. Blame the old cranks who have nothing better to do than threaten to cancel newspaper subscriptions unless butt-cracks and the word "Hell" never show up again.

Breathed is the #1 professional influence in my career and I've been a fan of his ever since I first picked up a funnies page.

The thanksgiving one is hanging up at my desk right now. It's not the same as bloom county but that will be hard to copy with only 1 strip a week. It was good to see some of the old gang again though.
