What relatives (brothers, second cousins, great-uncles, etc.) of favorite cartoon characters have we seen shown or mentioned over the years? More interested in ones besides just the main characters seen in every episode, i.e. something like Patty and Selma or Herb Powell vs. just mentioning Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie's relationship to each other.

To start, since I've been watching the Flintstones on DVD lately:

Fred Flintstone:
- Ed and Edna Flintstone (father and mother; names given in the Flintstone Kids, though consider the show mostly apocryphal)
- Grandpa Flintstone (fought in the Stone Age version of World War I; Fred's grandfather)
- Zeke Flintstone (the last remaining Arkanstone Flintstone until he died while feuding with the Hatrocks; Fred's great-great-uncle)
- Jed Flintstone (mentioned by Granny Hatrock as a Flintstone for whom one of his 16 sons moved away from Arkanstone and never came back---guessing Jed is Zeke's brother/Grandpa Flintstone's father....).
- Cousin Tumbleweed (on Fred's mother's side?)
- Uncle Tex (on Fred's mother's side?)
- Giggles Flintstone (uncle)
- Pebbles (daughter)
- Wilma (wife)
- Mrs. Slaghoople (mother-in-law)
- Chip and Roxy Rubble (grandson and granddaughter)
- Bamm-Bamm Rubble (as an adult, Fred's son-in-law)

All the ones for Fred I can think of (unless I'm missing some)...

How about the title character of Hey Arnold!, then?

Regulars: Arnold, Grandpa Phil and Grandma Pookie.
Others: His parents Stella and Miles, and Phil's sister Mitzi. Stella's father was named Arnold as well (which is why Footballhead is named Arnold).

Er, that's all I got.

Kim Possible:
- Dr. James Timothy Possible & "Mrs." Dr. Possible (parents; fandom belief is that Mrs. Dr. Possible's name might be "Anne", from Kim's middle name)
- Jim & Tim Possible (younger brothers; "the Tweebs")
- Nana Possible (grandmother, martial artist and former aviatrix and the first woman to complete the Navy's Basic Underwater Demolition Course. Currently living in a retirement home in Florida)
- Cousin Larry (last name unknown; could be Possible. Friends with Ron but Kim can't stand him)
- June (Larry's mother)
- Jocelyn "Joss" Possible (Kim's younger cousin, lives on a ranch with her father "Slim". Once hero-worshiped Kim, but has switched her attentions over to Ron)
- "Slim" Possible (Kim's uncle, father of Joss. James Possible's older brother)
- Miriam "Mim" Possible (Kim's "great-aunt", according to her, probably the sister of her great-grandfather. Was an investigative reporter in Middleton 100 years before the KP series)

Ginger Foutley:
- Lois Foutley (mother)
- Jonas Foutley (father, pretty much estranged from his ex-wife and kids)
- Dr. David Dave (step-father)
- Mrs. Dave (Dr. Dave's mother, Lois' new mother-in-law and the Foutley kids' new/step-grandmother)
- Darren Patterson (boyfriend, future husband as of 'The Wedding Frame')
- unnamed daughter (seen in the last couple minutes of 'The Wedding Frame')
- Mr. and Mrs. Patterson (Darren's parents, future in-laws)

No counting the fan made ones, here are the reletive of the characters of both Ghostbusters cartoons:

The Real Ghostbusters:

Dr. Peter Venkman: Only canon reletive is his father, his name Jim(though in the fan canon his name is Charlie). His mother maybe deceased judging from what Peter said at the end of "The Thing In Mrs Faversham's Attic". Also he mentions that he has a Uncle Alf.

Dr. Ray Stantz: Has two deceased uncles(one named Gaylord & another named Andrew) and a aunt by the name of Lois.

Dr. Egon Spengler: Has a mother who treats Egon like a child. And a uncle named Cyrus who is a scientist aswell and (at least at first) doesn't believes his nephew's job. Also has two deceased ancestors(Eli Spengler who captured a witch in the 17th century and Zedikiah Spengler who defeated a dragon in the 18th century).

Winston Zeddemore: Has a father named Edward "Big Ed" Zeddemore who like Egon's uncle doesn't believe his son's line of work. Also has a ancestor named Shima-Buku, a Tangalli chieftain who Winston is also reincarnation of.

Janine Melnitz: Most of her family can be seen in the episode "Janine's Day Off" though no names were given. She mentioned she has a nephew named Victor who may or may not be the boy who used a squirt gun on Egon in the said episode.

Louis Tully: Has a nephew named Lawrence who is a real brat.

Now the Extreme Ghostbusters:

Eduardo Rivera: Has a brother named Carlos who is married & has a son hence Eduardo has a nephew.

Kylie Griffin: Has a deceased great grandmother named Rose.

Roland Jackson: Has one brother named Casey.

Garrett Miller: No actual reletives had appeared on EGB, but considering that he wasn't created after the other three pretty much make the most undeveloped member.

Rugrats:

Chuckie has an aunt named Miriam.
Tommy has a few relatives in the midwest.
Phil and Lil impersonated their uncle and aunt while trying to potty train Spike.
Susie has an aunt (as seen in the Kwanzaa show).

Jave: Yeah, totally forgot about Arnie.

Rugrats:

Chuckie has an aunt named Miriam.

I thought Miriam was Tommy's aunt; she was Grandpa Lou's sister and the episode that she first appeared in drew some hefty parallels between Miriam and Angelica. She also could never get Didi's name right.

Jimmy Neutron has a baby cousin named Eddie that is actually just as smart if not smarter than him, but on the flip side is very evil. We also meet Hugh's side of the family (in the episode where we meet Eddie), and they ALL look like him ;)

More to throw out...

Fred Flintstone's Uncle Tex (after rewatching the episode) has the last name "Hardrock", so definitely Fred's mom's side (assuming her maiden name is "Hardrock").

Guess to do more Flintstones:

Wilma:
- Mrs. Slaghoople (Wilma's mother)
- Wilma's grandfather, who was a dinosaur thief (according to Fred in one episode)
- Wilma's father (only seen in "The Flintstone Kids", and deceased per the original series)
- Wilma's two younger twin sisters (forget their names, only seen in "The Flintstone Kids", though presumably at least one of them being referred to in references to "Wilma's sister" in the original series/spinoffs...)
- Pebbles (daughter)
- Bamm-Bamm (son-in-law, as an adult)
- Chip and Roxy (grandchildren)

Betty:
- Betty's mother and father (forget their names on "Flintstone Kids"; Betty's mother is mentioned various times in the original series, and IIRC shows up in "I Yabba Dabba Do")
- Betty's sister (mentioned in the original series, has one kid; think she showed up in "Flintstone Kids")
- Pebbles (daughter-in-law, as an adult)
- Bamm-Bamm (son)
- Chip and Roxy (grandchildren)

Barney:
- Mr. Slate (uncle, in one episode only---quickly forgotten/ignored in all later appearances)
- Dusty (younger brother, from "Flintstone Kids")
- Robert "Bob" Rubble (father, a car dealer, from "Flintstone Kids")
- Flo Rubble (mother, an artist, from "Flintstone Kids")
- Bamm-Bamm (son)
- Pebbles (daughter-in-law, as an adult)
- Chip and Roxy (grandchildren)

Scooby-Doo

Well, *actual* nephew---a flashback episode of one of those six-minute Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show shorts shows Scrappy's birth (to Scooby's sister Ruby Doo). So yes, he's related...

Tom (of Tom and Jerry) has a yellow bellied coward of a cousin named George who is primarily afraid of mice.

Jerry's little friend Nibbles was renamed Tuffy and became his nephew by the end of the series. Jerry also has a cousin named Muscles and an uncle named Pecos. Makes me wonder if perhaps Pecos is Muscles' father, since they both seem adept at brutally manhandling Tom.

Jerry also had a little nephew in the 1975 Hanna/Barbara TV series, a little grey chatterbox of a mouse in a striped shirt.

Was it an on-screen birth? Because that would have been sick. :p

Uh, no... the plot: At Scrappy's birthday party, Shag and Scoob flash back to Scrappy's birth----we see his mother wheeled into a hospital room off-screen to give birth, while most of the flashback involved Shag and Scoob running from a mean orderly for six minutes, followed by seeing Ruby holding Scrappy (wearing diapers and a bonnet!) and Scooby/Shaggy meeting the little pup.
