"Looks" being the key-word here.
Anyway, I think it looks stupid, personally.

I agree. The design doesn't impress me at all. I agree with the reaction it got on the Daily Show. It combines computers with the state of the art design of...desk lamps. Oooooooh, are we supposed to be impressed?

Ditto. I mean, who wants a computer screen two inches away from their face?! It does nothing a regular computer can't do.......but it looks cool. {shrugs}

To me it's typical of Apple - long on style. It seems like the overspend to get their faithful to go "Ohhhhh Awwwww" everytime they release a new machine. It may be a perfectly fine machine but it seems overboard on style.

That's the one thing that Apple has going for it. They've got more zealots than any other hardware platform. But as we've seen before you need more than zealots to achieve market penetration.
BTW, did you ever notice that about 90% of the computers seen on TV shows are Macs of one sort or another? If that were any indication of reality, we'd all be carrying i<fill in the Mac term here>s and have i<fill in some other cutesy Mac term here>s on our desks.

The shows use them because they are so eye-catching. I mean, given a choice between putting a lot of beige boxes everywhere, and putting up eyecandy like an iMac, the set designer will go for the eye-candy practically every time. "Reality" has nothing to do with it (like it has much to do with anything on TV :rolleyes: ).

Personally, I'm a fan of both PCs and iMacs. We got a brand new iMac at home and it is great! I think the iMac is one of the bets computers out there. But I have to say the "new" iMac is just for show. Expect it to start popping up on movies and shows soon...

Just like the 20th Anniversary Mac that showed up on TV a bunch (like in Seinfeld) but most normal people couldn't afford on

Yeah, I've never had as much problem with Macs as I have with PC's. The operating system is so much smoother. Of course, Microsoft is to blame for that one.
