How does DB/DBZ comics compare to the series?

anyone know? for example, are the comics as long as the series? do dragon ball and dragon ball z follow the manga exactly, which came first, the manga or the series, or were they simultanious? and which is better? thanks.

The Manga itself, is better. After all it was made by Akira Toriyama, and does have any of those awful fillers.

The anime doesn't fallow it exactly, what with all the fillers and all. Of course, the manga came first, but both were being made around the same time, so the fillers were made to keep the anime from catching up to the manga.
