There was some mention of a kids meal toy series for this show so I was shocked when it suddenly disappeared. They never seemed truly ready to release it so I can't see why they could blame it for ratings. There was no advertising, it was hidden as a single show late Saturday morning, with absolutly nothing about it even at CN.com. It was almost like they wanted it to go away, then drowned everything with the ads for the other shows released at the same time. Wulin Warriors was announced better. I'll be glad to see it back, it's animation was wonderful and the characters interesting.

Dragon Hunters along with Ben 10 are the only good shows on Saturday. Not this Robotboy/Zixx crap.

EXACTLY! That's exactly what the problem was! BAD advert......wait... NO Advertising and VERY Bad timing, that'll kill any show ya put out there. This is the onyl place it's technically "failed" at, for lack of a better word. All the other countries it's doing GREAT! With lotsa merchandising and stuff! In Germany is where they had kid meal toys at... and they even get a calendar for 2007 come June 2006 as well as ACTION figures! Luckys....

CN is based in America, as bases it's decsions on well shows do in America most of the time. CN pulled the show so quickly, I don't think its making a reapperance. CN, I heard bought new episodes, but my bet is that it is out of contractual obligation more than anything.

But they've said in the other official Fall sched that it's to be coming back in August. ^_^; The show couldn't of been called on how bad or good it did, not unless Cartoon Network WANTED it to fail. The time slots and absoloutely NO advertising puts any chance of it 'doing well' to rest. It was probably just a test run... a random thing thrown in, to see how well it would do. There are alot of fans building up for that show in the US now....and some of it may have to do with Cartoon Network, but the main thing is because of us, the fans, of the show are getting the word out there about the show to others.
At least that's what I'm doing and I've gotten the show a group of about 15 new fans. ^^;.....and I'm still trying to drag-on more! :D It's kinda funny when you think about it the fans really DO hold all the power of wether a show does well or not. *grins*

This time I will watch every episode. I only caught one the last time it aired, very good show.

Oh no kidding! :) Seriously, I watched 3 episodes (though I was kinda going on and off from it, because I was doing computer work) But, after the three episodes I was hooked and they took it off, though I LOVED that show! It got me enough to where I ordered the Official German DVD set.. XD....just to see a little more of it.

The show was not pulled because of low ratings. In a recent interview, a CN executive said they had gotten 6 episodes of Dragon Hunters to see how the American audience would like it. They aired all 6 episodes. This executive said the ratings were high enough to where they were aquiring additional episodes, and the series (probably in its entirety) would begin airing this fall. A link to that interview is avialble here in one of the TZ forums, but I can't recall which one. The executive discussed everything except Adult Swim.

They kiboshed Wulin Warriors very fast too, so they must be basing decisions on something other than current ratings  Somewhere there's a poll that makes and breaks new shows,,, I want that kind of power :D
It had a handicap as well, it seems to have a complex background story, but we have no idea why their world is the way it is and new characters appear, liked that cute girl dragon hunter, without any structure at all.

Those are completly different scenarios you mention. CN helped co-produce Wulin Warriors and it has 13 episodes, but they pulled it because of horrendously low ratings after 2 episodes and most likely won't renew it. Dragon Hunters did air all 6 episodes that CN had aquired, and they've said they are going to bring it back, something they never said with the Wulin. 6 episodes out of 6 is 100% airing, while 2 out of 13 is only 15%.

Well I can't wait to see all the other episodes they have. I've seen 3 episodes they've aired, and 3 they haven't.... but all were dubbed. (I thank the mighty that the German DVD had some english episodes as bonus features.) I believe they were episodes 1, 6, and 10 ..... The other episodes I'm unsure of the numbers.

Actually, they didn't air episode 1. The episode numbers they aired were 6, 8, 12, 16, 17, and 24.

I thought it looked a little open ended and then didn't follow a sequence.

Ah they were just testing the show. Of course advertising it would have help that test alot more.

I read the same interview and the answer sounded more like spin than anything else. Even if six episodes were ordered, if the show received the ratings the CN wanted, those six episodes would have been played over and over again. Usually CN orders a show in 13 episode chunks. I would buy that argument if 13 out of the 26 episodes aired but six, no way. If you read the entire entire in Newsarama, you would noticed that a lot of the answers to the questions were pure spin, not just that one. The CN executive interviewed was trying to justified the Cartoon Network's current vision, despite the questions being asked (and the questions were good but the answers often danced around the question).
It was an interesting interview but you had to read between the lines to get at what was really being said.
Dragon Hunters was the one show introduced this season that I fell in love with but unfortunately if it ever returns it will probably be in the 5:00 AM death slot.

Dragon Hunters is indeed a good show. The acting is good I think it's the same people from Kaput and Zosky so I would expcet John Stocker doing a VA somewhere. And the animation is nice and fluid. This reminds me alot of Jak and Daxter.

Rick Jones (Gwizdo and Hector) who does the voice of Kaput is on the show, the other one who is on there is Harry Standjofski, (Lian-Chu) who I believe had this first time voice acting on here. I know Sonja Ball (Zaza) has done a few other shows, namely Toad Patrol with Rick Jones. I know she's done quite a few others though. ll of the Voice Actors are highly talented, the storyline is a BREATH of FRESH air! Not to mention the AMAZING Artwork, which might I add, was inspired from Hayao Miyazaki's work. (Fact)
The humor isn't as lame as other shows I've seen, this thing actually gets me laughing quite abit, and c'mon! Ya GOTTA love those expressions. Heh, in any which case, it's already been said that DH was getting a slot in the fall so.. ^_^;; Hehe...... and from what I've heard it's not at 5AM, It's at 11:30 something.
I'm not going to be too aweful worried aboutit this time though. *grins* If you REALYL want the show to stick aroudn start bosting it to others! Tell them about the show, what it's like, the voices, quotes... things like that! Pass the word around, draw pictures so that people will stop and go "hey! That's cute, what's it from? Or what is that?" To catch their attention!
It's something that I've been doing since it went off air. ... It's something that really does work. You've just gotta try it. ^___o.... Apparently if CN doesn't do advertising. It's up to the fans to fill in everyone else... who didn't get to catch it by sheer chance, who might wanna see it! :D :) :anime: ;)
