This is my LEAST favorite episode of that serie. Seriously it wasn't really exciting and Adam was just not fun as a character.

I guess I appreciate this episode more than others because I get the joke and can laugh at it.

This episode started off as a confusing mess and by the end even after getting the point it wanted driven home it just didn't do it for me. Adam was a bore. The plot points were one too many and too complicated to be delivered within the time range of the episode. And the attempt to get the story told left no room for those small character moments which I love so much about the series.

Next episode looks better...

2 stars.

The episode was pretty decent, but I wish Adam had actually done something useful...

Trivia: Tamsin Grieg is the first person to appear in both the original and revived series.

I looked over her IMDB and came up with nothing on the original series.

The Long Game is simply to show what makes a good companion and what makes a bad companion. It sort of proves that the Doctor doesn't just pluck people off the street randomly. Even though Rose may be called chav or considered a dumb blonde by some, she does have the common sense to come in out of the rain. She's willing to be open and willing to explore and make mistakes. She doesn't abuse the privileges that come with traveling with a Time Lord. That's what makes a good companion.

I think this ep is sort of a commentary on how media hungry we are and what we'll become if we're not careful.

Yeah the only good part of the episode was showing that Rose was a better companion that Adam could be.

Unless I'm mistaken 'Empty Child' is next no? That one's MUCH better.

Retracted, I was thinking of Jasmine Breaks. Moving on.

No, it's Father's Day, which is pretty awesome in its own right.

Well at least they kept from developing into another annoying boy genius companion whose name started with "A".

I'm really geting into this episode. The Editor creeps me out, and his boss even more bizzare. Gooding preety good for me.

Hmm, kind of shocking and bizzare.

Wow, that's got to be a gross way to go.

Poor Adam, regulated to script fodder, he should have been used more. Oh well, maybe well see him agian or not.

The ending rocked though., but it could have been better. 3 out of 5.

I'm one of the few who really enjoyed this one. Simon Pegg is great and the story is quite enjoyable. The visuals are good and the change to the show dynamic refereshing. I recall RTD saying this one has Adam for such a great amount to give Chris and Billie a break. Not my favourite from series 1, but I think it's better than most give it credit for.

Adam became annoying fast. I kept thinking "you stupid, stupid boy" even before he got a hole cut in his head. the grapihcs for that looked pretty weak, couldnt they have built a little contrption that could open and shut?

Did the guy who played the editor acted in something else? I think I recognize him from somewhere.

Rose cna get herself into trouble, but at least she tries to solve the problems, not make it worse.

I knew the finger snapping bit by the mother at the end was coming as soon as she walked in the door.

I know the press twists the facts, I've had my interviews and others I know screwed up in the paper enough times for that. They once labeled my picture with a guy's name, not even close to mine. But people watch the news and read the papers and accept them as fact.

Simon Pegg (The Editor) was in Shaun of the Dead and British series Spaced, he's probably done other stuff as well - I know he had a cameo in Land of the Dead recently too.

He was great in this episode, really wish he had had a bigger part. Less of that fragger Adam (God, he was awful...) and more of him! I enjoyed this on the whole when I watched it, but it would have been far better without the so called 'boy genius'... I always thought dumping him in the present was a bit dangerous of the Doctor as well. But ho-hum.

I liked this one. It had a good concept and I never really liked Adam, so it was fun to see the sucker lose himself in the world and end up having to pay the price in the present. I just hope Rose remembered to get her phone from him. She's too trusting with people.

The Editor was interesting. I liked how he kept his mouth open almost all the time. Funny little guy.

Maybe because I had just finished 1984 or something before viewing that episode because 'evil TV station that manipulate information' got old real fast for me.
