Here is my dream Boomerang line-up. I just envisioned. Mods, feel free to mirror or move this to the Fun & Games forum, but please don't close it.

Okay, here's the line-up:

The Zoo (I'd have all cartoons air in their "theatrical credits" versions to make the shorts feel complete)

The Flintstones (the orginal. NO SPIN-OFFS)

The Jetsons (both the 60's original and the 80's revival. Hey, the revival was pretty good IMHO and they'd pretty much have to air the revival or else their will be LOTS of reruns)

Ruff & Reddy

Yogi's Treasure Hunt

The Smurfs

Scooby-Doo (air all the shows under one timeslot to avoid overexposure)

Boomeraction (A block of action cartoons from Hanna-Barbera. See what I said about the Zoo)

Tom & Jerry

Tom & Jerry Kids

The Tex Avery Show

The Bob Clampett Show

A version of the Chuck Jones Show that only shows pre-1948 color cartoons directed by Jones (they could also make a Friz Freleng Show that only used the Turner-owned shorts)

Bugs & Daffy (Like I said before, only Turner-owned shorts)

Toonheads

The Popeye Show

Late Night Black & White

Harveytoons

The Pink Panther

Woody Woodpecker

Underdog

Tennesee Tuxedo and His Tales

Rocky & Bullwinkle

George of the Jungle

Crusader Rabbit (if they can get the rights to it)

Batman: The Animated Series

Superman: The Animated Series

Justice League

Duck Dodgers

2 Stupid Dogs

Dexter's Laboratory

That's pretty much it. I'm pretty much indifferent to wheter Baby Looney Tunes would stay or leave (I don't hate BLT but so many other people do that maybe it should leave Boomerang). Also, I would LOVE to see Warner's "Silver Age" cartoons (like Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs and Freakazoid), other DCAU shows (the Zeta Project and Static Shock), Teen Titans, and A FEW more Cartoon Cartoons (What-A-Cartoon!, Cow & Chicken, the PowerPuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog and maybe Time Squad and Sheep in the Big City) on Boomerang, but not if they take too much timeslots away from the classics.

That sounds like a GREAT lineup, man. Wish you were in charge of programming!

How about Popeye? Personally I'd like to see them air The Popeye Show in the overnight. Already B&W shorts (Popeye & Snafu) airing on a couple ToonHeads in rotation.

I'd also like to see Bob Clampett's BEANY & CECIL again, even if some of the
topical humor is a bit dated now.

I just got Boomerang in January, so some of these shows have probably already been on, but I'd like to see the following shows on Boomerang at some point:

- Pound Puppies
- Beetlejuice
- The lost Smurfs episodes
- Superfriends (EVERY episode)
- Mr. T (Forget the April Fools Day judgement, T deserves a weekday time slot)
- Pac Man
- Gobots
- ALF/ALFTales
- Alvin & The Chipmunks

How about Popeye?

After I read that, I looked over my list and realized I forgot Popeye. Whoops! I'm extremly sorry. I was just making the list of the top of my head. I'll add him in now.

Everything's fine except Tom & Jerry Kids... IMO that isn't a classic fit for Boomerang ...

There should be a limit of only one show with "kids" or "babies" in the title shown per day on Boomerang.

That looks like a much improved schedule than the one they're currently showing. I just recently received Boomerang and have been really disappointed in their programming choices. With the large library of cartoons available, I would think CN would put together something better. The current schedule feels disjointed.

Your line-up looks pretty doable, with shows that I could imagine CN putting on the network. I personally like the Tex Avery/Bob Clampett/etc. shows and the improved Boomeraction block you added. To add some regularity to the time slots, I would put The Zoo in the morning, Boomeraction in the afternoon, and the Tex/Bob/etc. shows in the evenings. Late night could feature shows like the Pink Panther, Popeye, and of course, Late Night Black & White. I think the Silver Age Warner stuff and the other DCAU cartoons would fit well on weekends.

How about Top Cat ??

As classic as they come :D :D

I still think that programming Boomerang is left up to a guy who doesn't care to watch the channel. It's like he makes his programming choices right before he heads out for a four day weekend.

I like your lineup.

How about for saturday mornings, you could have Flinstone Kids, Baby Looney Tunes and a A Pup named Scooby Doo? That's when they used to air when they aired originally.

I think they should air the classic HB action shows again. Space Ghost/Dino Boy,Birdman/ The Herculoids, etc. Another run of Thundarr and some of the other 80's HB/RS action shows wouldn't be a bad thing either.

It wouldn't shock me if they are only airing shows with characters that survied well with young kids and their moms. Would explain alot about the lack of variety and "obscure" shows in the last year.

Enough with the baby Looney Tunes. Even my friend's four year old hates that show.

You left out Tom and Jerry Kids. And almost everyone hates Baby Looney Toons. Does anyone actually like that show?

since Looney Toons were originally not meant for kids to watch, Baby Looney Toons is perfect for my 6 1/2 year old niece and 5 year old nephew to watch. Not that they watch it that much, but considering Toon Disney is all junk.......Baby Looney Toons is one of the few cartoons they can watch on the Boomerang channel.

I've watched Baby Looney Toons a few times and its cute in that cheesy way. I only have watched to widdle away the time until 6:30 PM when I could watch simpsons syndicated reruns.

Not a "dream" line-up but more my idea for an extended late night Boomeraction block. I've included some of the more popular and modern series on top and only shows (I believe) they currently have the rights to.

10:00PM Batman / Superman
10:30PM He-Man / Justice League
11:00PM Jonny Quest / Real Jonny Quest
11:30PM Thundarr / SWAT Kats
12:00AM Space Ghost, Dino Boy / Birdman, Galaxy Trio
12:30AM Herculoids / Mightor, Moby Dick
1:00AM Various Rotation*

*Possible Shows
Adventures of Don Coyote
Centurions
Challenge of the GoBots
Dragon's Lair
Dynomutt: Dog Wonder
Fantastic Four (1967)
Galtar & the Golden Lance
G.I. Joe***
Gigantor
Godzilla, Jana Of the Jungle***
Goldie Gold and Action Jack
Karate Kommandos
New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Pirates of Dark Water
Plastic Man
Sky Commanders
Space Stars
Superfriends (Various)
Valley of the Dinosaurs
Wildfire
Young Robin Hood
Young Samson, Space Kidettes

The earlier block could be rotated to a different series at a later time. Some of the other newer (80's-90's) series would prob work in the 11:30 slot.

Not bad, but I'd add the Spin-offs to the Flintstone slot, get rid of Baby Looney Tunes, add Warner's "Silver Age" toons, skip the DCAU and TT, and ESPECIALLY skip the Cartoon Cartoons, since those don't ever belong on Boomerang.

My Boomerang would feature the following shows
(put them in any timeslot you want)

Smurfs
Scooby Doo(all versions in chronological order)
Looney Toons
Tom & Jerry
Masters of the Universe
Thundarr
Richie Rich
Mr T
GI Joe (see Scooby Doo)
Yogi Bear & Friends(including all other charaters like Snagglepuss, Huckleberry Hound, etc)
Superfiends (all versions)
Transformers
Pound Puppies
Super Globetrotters
Hekyl & Jekyl & Might Mouse
Grape Ape
Shirt Tales
Speed Buggy
Jabber Jaw
Clue Club
Captain Caveman
Josie & The Pussycats
Honk Kong Phooey
Space Ghost
The Herculoids
Teen Force

I would put them in special blocks of similar shows, similar to "The zoo" or "cartoons without a clue, with a timeslot every week. For example, The zoo from 12-3 featuring Yogi and friends cartoons and a superhero themed hour with Superfriends, Thundarr, Space Ghost, etc Maybe do a new specific theme every weekend. like Dogs featuring Hong Kong Phooey, Pound Puppies and Scooby Doo. I would also have what CN used to have on Saturday afternoons, a 3 hour marathon of one show

One of the biggest things I've been disappointed in is their lack of a good Boomeraction block. With so many shows at their disposal, surely they could think of better things to put on instead of Duck Dodgers. I'm glad they at least had Batman, Superman, JL, and MotU on the block at one point.

Of your list of possible shows, the one I would love most to return is Centurions. That was one of my favorite cartoons way back, with an interesting premise and some fun action.

First of all, it's LOONEY TUNES, not "Loney Toons". And secondly, no, Looney Tunes are no longer shown on Boomerang anymore.

They are shown as part of Toonheads - just enough content to claim they show 3 LT/MMs every 24 hours.

The last 6 months have seen Boomerang decline from a fun channel to CN's junk drawer. I do hope more H-B series come out on DVD so I won't care when they finally pull the plug on the channel.

You have to work in some of the live action stuff too. Like Shazam/Isis hour. HR Pufnstuf. Krofft Power Hour. The Banana Splits. Those all bring back my childhood.

You have to work in some of the live action stuff too. Like Shazam/Isis hour. HR Pufnstuf. Krofft Power Hour. The Banana Splits. Those all bring back my childhood.

Rhino's been doing a good job getting the Krofft Saturday morning shows onto DVD. Bugaloos are due out this week. You can already get HR Pufnstuff, Lidsville, Land of the Lost, the first season of Sigmund and the Sea Monsters plus the complete Pink Lady and Jeff.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the remaining shows in the vault. They still have 12 Sigmunds (including the Pufnstuff episode). "The Lost Saucer" has 16 episodes with Jim Nabors and Ruth Buzzi. "Far Out Space Nuts" with 15 episodes. The last two shows can be seen on the Breakfast DVD sampler.

I'm waiting to hear what Rhino is going to do with the Krofft Supershow (Dr. Shrinker, Wonderbug, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl and Captain Kool and the Kongs. Plus there's the Bay City Roller Show (I still have memories of these daughters of my dad's best friend being nuts about the Rollers. They all had made plaid jumpsuits).

It's a shame the Shazam/Isis shows aren't out on DVD since there's only 22 of the Isis and 28 Shazams (and they put the first episode "The Joy Riders" out as a bonus DVD in the season 3 of Wonder Woman). Also there's BCI coming out with the Ghostbusters live action show that had Larry Storch and Forrest Tucker with the gorilla. The Shazam is only 21 minutes long so they could pack them into a 2 DVD set without a problem.

I love it! But there are a few things missing:
Secret Squirrel/Atom Ant
Laff-A-Lympics
Yogi's Gang
Top Cat
Popeye
Superfriends
Also, maybe you should do a Scooby-Doo Block in the morning. Like first, A pup Named Scooby-Doo, then Scooby-Doo Where Are You? followed by the Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show, and last, What's New Scooby-Doo? And maybe a Scooby Movie at the end of every month.
