I had it up to here with Disney's goody-too-shoes family-friendly attitude and Dragonball Z's horrific dominance in Toonami.

For the past two years my mind had been plagued by images of Winnie the Pooh floating in the air and angry Super Sayians butting heads with pure energy zapping around them. Ever since Katzenberg left the mouse empire, Disney had decrease their entertainment value these past few years. I used to enjoy movies like Beauty & the Beast and shows like Darkwing Duck. Now with crap like Hercules, Atlantis & Pepper Ann, their ruthless box office tactics that supressed Katzenberg's studio Dreamworks and put Fox out of the animation business, not to mention putting their overall emphasis on Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the 101 acres; in my opinion, the mouse factory finally stabbed me in the back after years of entrusting them.

I just recently read an article on Animenation.com about why Cartoon Network won't air Sailor Moon no more, because it's old and wore off. DBZ is a little worn off IMHO too, yet CN rather rely on a forceful Goku then a clutzy Serena/Usagi. They give it full treatment and put them in the majority of the entire Toonami lineup!, not to mention giving them TWO HOURS on Saturdays! Thus making Toonami a mostly male-dominating block (the proof is their TV ads) They claim it's the greatest action cartoon of all time. HELLO!!! Like anyone cares of grim, angry, yelling, muscle-flexing transforming superhuman kung-fu morons beating the crap out of each other of the majority of the show! There are other shows worthy of the title of "Greatest Action of All Time."

The empires that Uncle Walt and Akira Toriyama built has now starting to... tick me off!

I'm not a Disney fan at all, but DBZ..........................

I don't hate DBZ, I hate FUNimation's version, and yeah they are showing way too much DBZ but here's a theory:

IT'S WAY TOO LONG!!!

They are showing this much because of this, and not to mention DBGT if they showed only 1 chapter, we'll get really sick of it.

I find that I am watching less things made by Disney. I don't really hate Disney. I just don't really watch it as much as I used to.

I totally agree with you on DBZ. I'm big on anime, and DBZ doesn't really do anything for me. I think it's overhyped, IMO. It has good ratings, therefore CN and Toonami want to cash in as much as they can. There is not much you can do. Even if the show was put on a break for a little while would be great!

I don't think DBZ has ever been on a break since it aired on the block.

Yeah right! Judging by your rant, you never respected Disney to begin with.

I like Disney animation, but I hate The Disney Channel, and their crappy shows, and unfortunately, that crappy mentality has sapped into their TV animation unit. Makes me long for the days when The Disney Afternoon dominated the airwaves, and made show that were worth watching. The Emperor's New Groove was the only good film their feature unit has put out in recent memory, and Atlantis, while not the end all, be all film some of us would've hoped for, was a breath of fresh air. Lord knows you can't do musicals forever. As for Dragon Ball Z, I agree with how overrated that show is. I may not be the biggest Sailor Moon fan, but now that you mention it. I kinda miss that little Meatball head. I would've liked the show more if Serena wasn't so whiney, and acted more like Blossom.

Disney's not 100% all bad. I like their animation but that is basically it. I don't like the Disney Channels, or how they ruin their animated movies with unwanted sequels and spin off television series. If they just held back abuit, then maybe I wouldn't have any problems, but I can't see that happening in my life time.

The only problem I have with Disney is their tendency to rip off animes like Kimba and Nadia, then say "Nope, these are 100% original ideas. We've never even heard of those shows" when its so obvious what they've done.

And yes, DBZ is vomit inducing its so bad.

I still think that Disney theatrical animation remains one of the leaders in the field. But their more recent TV stuff... it's not as bad as some other stuff out there (Pokemon... ack) but it's still pretty uninteresting.

But yes, DBZ gets way too much attention for a show that features characters who stand around and power up for five minutes.

While I don't hate Disney in it's enbeginning to despise the channel... They seriously need better shows.

DBZ gets waaaaay too much air time. while I really have no major problem with it it's not a good enough show to be shown all the time.

After years and years of wanting the Disney Channel, it finally went to basic and all I got was Boy Meets World reruns and neverending Doug. Yechhh.

I do like a few of their modern shows, like Weekenders and House of Mouse, but for the most part all I've got is nostalgia for the Disney Afternoons of yore.

Not a DBZ person. Never tried to be. I'm an anime nut, but somehow I never got around to watching any DBZ, Ranma, or Tenchi.
