Hello everyone!
If this has been posted many times, feel free to lock.
But lately very few non-original shows have been added to Adult Swim. Hopefully, these shows will do alright to warrent the addition of other shows. So, What shows do you think could be liscensed?
I feel that if Eureka and Bleach do well..maybe we could get some more anime.
What is there?
What I really wish for is Berserk, but I dont know if enough people like it to watch it. Any other ideas?
This is also open to COMEDY as well

For action I'd like to see Ergo Proxy make it to AS. Geneon already has it similar to Samurai Champloo and it is practically made for a US audience.

WOW..that show looks PRETTY! Who is it by? I know its the same prod committee as Champloo, but what about directors and such?

Also, Saved by the Bell? NEW? Maybe if it was adult

There is a possibility that Bandai sold Eureka Seven to AS as a means to test the waters for Gundam Seed Destiny.

I want to say Gaogaigar (because it's been liscenced by Media Blasters and, believe it or not, there is some stuff in there that wouldn't fit on Toonami), but then again most of it could be edited out with little to no effect on the story. Gun X Sword might fit too. Godannar could work; even though it's a brightly colored super robot extravaganza like GaoGaiGar, Godannar is actually mature (bouncing boobs, cleavage, blood and death ahoy).

Also: Hi, I'm new. Please be gentle.

Hi. :)

Godannar is actually mature (bouncing boobs, cleavage, blood and death ahoy).
Which is why it'll never air on [as].

And people seem to keep using the word "mature" rather recklessly around here. ;)

Kim Manning sez-

Fanservice is fine, as long as the fanservice isn't of girls.:)

So Godannar wouldn't air. Which is too bad since it's a pretty good show.

As far as anime goes, I think Berserk would be a smart acquisition, despite the fact that it's a bit old, to give the block more seinen. Shonen is ok on AS but it should take advantage of the amount of "maturity" (for lack of a better word) that it can broacast.

Black Lagoon is preliscenced by Geneon USA and would probably do well on Adult Swim. As some on the internet have described, it's basically "Jerry Brockheimer: The Anime".

Well after the "farting" April 1st special on Adult Swim, I think the anime Gokudo (26 episodes) would be prefect for Adult Swim with zero edits to the series.

It has no nudity, little swearing and only a few fart jokes.

The Gokudo series is extremely funny, with well-thought parodies of fantasy that are in a similar fashion as when Megas XLR parodies sci-fi.

And the guys at Williams Street would love the main character, who's name is Gokudo, because he's a total jerk, but still likable.

And the rest of the main cast around enjoyable as well.

It sounds better for Toonami.

As for Comedy I suggest they get Clerks to be added to the line up and as i said before the creator Kevin Smith would jump at the idea. I would also suggest Yu Yu Hakusho for the action anime, its a great show and if they put it in kinda late they could keep some of the low brow humor

P.S. I saw Yu Yu Hakusho on the line up at like 5 AM a couple weeks past so im not sure how valid my suggestion is but i still say put it on earlier

Yu Yu Hakusho was originally an Adult Swim property but the ratings skewed towards younger viewers so it was repackaged, re edited, and ported to Toonami. I did like it on AS though.

It sounds better for Toonami.Well since Toonami allowed Naruto to have a little gender-bending, I guess it could be shown on Toonami, but it might be better shown on Adult Swim because their is a little drinking (wine) in it, though it is not really stated, nor shown in problimatic way.

True, but it would be really easy to sell ad time to cell phone companies.

Ha Ha, vibrate.

Yu Yu Hakusho premiered on [adult swim] back in 2002.

It did better in the kid ratings, then adult, so they editted and moved it to Toonami in 2003. Since then new episodes have aired on Toonami, until after the Sensui arc, and was taken off for poor ratings.

It later finished the rest of the series at 5AM on Friday nights/Saturday mornings in 2005/06.

For proof, you can find the Yu Yu Hakusho [adult swim] promo and intro (not to mention the original japanese OP and EDs) here (http://asfdotcom.net/download/yyhakusho.php) from ASF (http://www.asfdotcom.net)

I'd love to see Berserk on TV, but I'm not sure AS is ready to handle it yet, even though they've gotten better in what they can show, violence-wise.

And I've never thought of Gokudo going to AS, but that is an interesting idea. It'd be a comedy anime that the line-up could certainly use. It seems like the only anime AS has gotten lately, with the exception of FMA, has been dull and dreary shows. AS needs a show with some life to it and Gokudo has that. As far as the Toonami-AS question, Gokudo has enough content in it to make it a better fit on AS. Also, with shows like S-cry-ed being shown on AS, this question shouldn't even be raised anymore, the question should be what does each block need most, and I'd say AS needs an anime show that's lively instead of the emotionless stuff they've been getting. Of course, that's just my opinion.

from what i've seen so far, i don't think Ergo Proxy will work well on Adult Swim.

according to the latest issue of Beckett Anime Adult Swim and G4 are both fighting over the rights to Blood The Last Vampire. Maybe we'll hear something at ComicCon. Don't forget EVA wasn't announced at last years Upfront and instead was at ComicCon. I still think they'll show Gun X Sword.

Comic Con didn't announce it. ADV Films did at ....Otakon? Soon AS confirmed it.

Besides Inuyasha Movie 3 is probably the best animated Inuyasha story to date. It also gives so much need backstories to Inuyasha's and his family.

In IY Movie 3 we finally get a good look at Inuyasha's father's face.

2. To paraphase a quote of a anime online reviewer about the Gokudo series. "The Gokudo series is the type of series that does more before breakfast than most people do all day." :zim:
