This is my first story on the story board, hope you like it!!!!!! I couldn't find the prologue but it should still be ok.
Episode 1: An Honest Mistake
My name is Kogaru. Today’s the date of my birth, or at least the day ol’ Majahal found me. Majahal’s my foster father, he took me in when I was a newborn, and raised me for fourteen, no, fifteen years now. I was sitting on the edge of the beach, with my feet in the wet sand with the tide slowly crawling up my leg. I gazed down at my tattoo. I know now that it is called Black Fire, and I’ve had it for as long as I can remember. I know it’s important because Majahal said it had something to do with my past. Well today’s the day I’m gonna find out, even if I have to—
“Kogaru! Hurry up inside before the sea urchin gets cold!” That’s Majahal for you. Cooks up the darndest things but yet it all tastes good.
“Comin’ Gramps!” I called. He hates when I call him that. I came inside and we both sat down around the smoldering fire. We knelt in front of it and laid our hands on the smoking embers. As a warrior, Majahal had trained me to relinquish bad thought or feelings such as pain or hate. We sat there for a good two minutes until I stopped abruptly. I could feel a burning feeling in my hand and I made the foolish mistake of declaring I was in pain.
“Ow!” I yelled. The mark on my skin was black and smoky. As always, when I was in pain, Black Fire glowed, and the wound began to heal.
“What is on your mind, young one?” Majahal asked. I hate when he calls me ‘young one’.
“Nothin’” I replied. I’m a horrible liar so it was no surprise when Majahal gave me his yeah-right-you-bet-there’s-nothin’ look. I was mad all day, trying to suppress my anger.
A long time ago, I asked about my parents. Majahal told me that I wasn’t quite ready to find out yet. I was peeved, but I figured I could wait a few more years. I just couldn’t wait another minute. “Okay, fine! There is something! You told me that on my fifteenth birthday, you would actually tell me something about my parents! It’s past sunset and you haven’t said a single word!” I yelled. He slapped me across the cheek, which quickly brought me to my senses. For some reason, that calmed me down, so I sat down quietly and listened to the conversation that issued.
“I found you approximetly twenty miles from my house. You were surprisingly calm, sleeping even. I came to the area you were in because I saw a giant blue light from that direction that intrigued my curiosity. When I found you I was very surprised, but despite Black Fire, I took you in as my kin.” I let this sink in for a moment.
“Is there anything else?” I asked.
“Your mother and father were—killed—before I reached you. Please don’t be too upset.” I sat there with my mouth slightly agape. All these years he could have told me. Instead, he chose to keep it to himself until I was ‘ready’. I could have handled it! Did he think I was just some regular kid? I’m more mature than most adults!
In my rage, I ran at him and threw a blow to his face. The hit connected, but Majahal seemed unscathed. I never could beat him when we sparred. I lunged again. This time he grabbed my arm and threw my across the room. I fought and fought but Majahal stayed on the defensive and counter-attacked every blow.
“You bastard.” I whispered. “Why didn’t you tell me before?”
“Because,” he said. “I made a mistake.” I stared at the old man for awhile. I could see the wrinkles in his face, his skinny arms that lost their bulk from sharing his food with me. His eyes though, were that of my mother’s. My mother’s eyes were the only things I could remember from that night. I walked over to Majahal. I fell against his shoulder from exhaustion, and cried.
