The final episode of The Tick will air on January 24th before being replaced with reruns of other FOX shwo suntil a new show is found. Yet, for some idiotic reason, Family Guy lives on. Also, the 24 Encore episodes on Friday will soon be no more as well. Don't worry though, 24 wil last until the end of the season.

yeah... seen it happen many times. really good shows always have once classic cancellation symptom: bad timeslot. plain and simple. it really looks like they're just set up to fail by the networks when they're put in these ridiculous scedules...my only question to the suits would be this: did you honestly think that the tick even had a slim chance against the other thursday night powerhouses??...

I liked this show. It was a great take on the heroes we all know and love. I'm not surprised FOX pulled the plug on it. They seem to pull the plug on all their good shows...like ACTION for example.

Looks like that Friday night episode I missed will stay missed. Hopefully someone out there taped them.
FOX is just being ridiculous. They decide to order a full season of this show just to cancel it a few eps later. Maybe Comedy Central will pick this series up like they did the cartoon (and, perhaps, order new eps??? well, one can dream...)
Truly, it is a sad, sad day...

Truly, it is a sad, sad day... I know Fox Kids did the same thing. Sam&Max's ratings were good they ordered a new season but then paid a penalty because they cancelled the order shortly after production started for the second season. Then they where going to put Sam&Max on Fox Family but changed their minds at the last minute.

So they canceled The Tick. Please excuse me while I go into the other room to shout expletives.
Now the only shows left on Fox that I even make an effort to watch are Futurama and That 70's Show. And with news that That 70's Show will be dropped so that the creators can focus on That 80's Show... :(
I can only wonder how much longer Futurama will last?

Nope, I liked it also. It made it what? Two weeks. An intelligent show with good actors. Musta been doomed from the start. If it had of went to HBO like it was originally intended it would probably still be with us.

And then they didn't air it with any regularity in that lousy time slot. It's obvious they had their minds made up about this show long ago.

The Tick was ok but I dunno, some of it was just kinda like "eh...ok...." I know alot of people liked it and even though I didn't like it much I think it should've at least of gotten a fair chance.

Dick, Family Guy lives on because it's funny. Apparently the Tick wasn't.
Don't be bitter. The Tick was growing on me but it's no big loss.
And don't blame this on Fox. NBC, CBS, and ABC have equally large TV show graveyards. We're lucky they've even stuck with Family Guy, and it's doing excellent.

I'm just not a fan of Family Guy, that's all. The show is a half-arsed rip off attempt to suck the popularity off of any show it copies. If someone else likes it - that's totally fine with me. I just don't like it. Everyone has right to an opinion. The show is pulling in low numbers, though. TheWB is constantly beatin git with (gak!) Popstars, so the show can't be doing too good. But this isn't a debate on Family Guy. No...it's to mourn the passing of The Tick.

Son of a [explentive deleted]!!! I knew it would happen. The show just killed me. Too bad. Fox never really wanted the show to succeed, IMO. I guess they got what they wanted all along.
I knew I should have been taping the episodes!!!

Sigh. I hate this, but I saw it coming... it was just too original and intelligent for most people.
Ah well, at least they tried, and did well, for the most part.

Well, I' m not gonna weep, cos I didn't care for it much at all and would much rather see a return of the animated version which was much better all the way around imo.
As for Family Guy, well it ranks right in there with all the other rank stuff currently clogging the airways (That 70s Show among them. I lived thru the 70s--this show ain't them).
I'm still mourning The Lone Gunmen, one of the last really original, well written little shows to be produced and canceled on FOX. And I miss my GodzillaTS and those unaired episodes, too!!!!

Yet another good show put down by Fox. Looks like all I have left are Futurama and Titus.

I had a feeling this would happen.....so I taped them all!! :D :D :D Damn shame too, that was a very well done show. I never thought they could make a live action Tick work. ....but they did.

So how many did FOX air? I read they aired 5 episodes out of the 8 produced.

And I think I only saw three. :(
I can only hope they get a DVD release. There is a cult fan base to support this, I believe, but the question is will they do it? The Clerks animated DVD was a success, and I think something like this would also be successful.

I think the show has amassed a good cult following ( comics2film.comdid a recent astory on this) and could definatly support a 2 (or 3) disc set of the show. I would definatly love to have these shows on DVD. I remember reading this show will either be a huge hit or a huge flop...and I'm said to see it be the latter. It suffered from a lack of a good lead in. It should have aired after The Simpsons for a few weeks, first...

Everyone has different opinions, and yours is valid. Did you like the show, Temrinatah? I thought the show was a good spoof on superheroes in general. Patrick Wartborton did a good job with the material he was given and pulled it off all very nicely. It's very hard to pull off a live action superhero show ya gotta admit! :)

Especially one that lampoons the whole genre. I'm sure that some viewers tuned in expecting a straight-up superhero action show and were left bewildered by the comedy.
Personally, I love Patrick W. as the Tick. He's the right combination of physically big and comedically talented.

I wish there was some more Action in the show(some, not a lot).
I did like the "Tick vs. Sex" Episode, and ones like it. But, the first episode did me good. And the "I.D" episode woked just right(Having them just completed fighting something). And the upcoming episode with The Terror..thats sure to be a riot!(Rumor has it, Tick starts a fight with him over the phone, so The Terror comes over to The Ticks house..hehe..)

Might wanna put that last bit in a spoiler box, Jack. I woulda rather seen that in the episode and not read it... http://community.sierra.com/Images/emoticons/hrmph.gif Others might feel the same way.... (yeah so I'm a nit pick :D)

I liked the show, which was why I was disappointed with it. I knew it wasn't good enough to last. They used the superhero lifestyle to parallel everyone else's day-to-day lifestyle, which is a great premise, but it didn't contain enough superhero elements. It might as well have been about regular people. I would've included more dangerous elements and drama to emphasize the trivial nature of their stupid little problems. We never really saw any of them fighting crime. They just sat around wearing the costumes, which wasn't enough. And Patrick Warburton played The Tick all wrong. He spoke every line in a silly voice you might use to read a story to a child. If he had spoken his ridiculous lines like a serious superhero and played it totally straight, then the writing would've come off much funnier. But he sounded like an idiot, so the audience wasn't surprised when he said something idiotic. It was a worthy effort, but ultimately not enough. Captain Liberty was hot though.
