I don't know if this has been asked. But, will Kevin Conroy be doing the voice of Batman in the Static Shock episode appearance??

yes he will, I believe there was a news article not to long ago on this..check the archives for "new Robin" (cause they re-cast robin cause the old VA grew to old, and his voice changed

Kevin Conroy will be voicing Batman, Eli Marienthal will be voicing Robin, and Mark Hammill will be voicing Joker. The WB Animation team had made sure that any Batman appearances are voiced by Conroy for the foreseeable future.

I normally can't stand Static Shock, but I'm looking forward to this. Have they released any design sketches yet (Static Shock is hardly art deco)?

Model sheets should be released soon, but KWB may try and keep this episode under wraps so they can suprise fans when it airs.

better not keep it under wraps too much..don't want another "Unmasked" fiasco..lol.

I'm lookin' forward to seeing the new Robin design...and to see if the voice fits.

I'm pretty sure this has been asked, but I'm just forgetful..is Batman the TNBA or JL one?

*feels so stupid asking that*

We dunno. Possibly a new design, to help him blend into the show better. As cool as his designs have been, they'd stick out like a sore thumb if they were just plopped into the curvier Static universe.

If you go to the evil www.*************** website, they got some screengrabs there of the episode and Batman & Robvin seem to blend in pretty good. Robin is obviously a bit taller and older looking - but just a bit.

Yeah, those screen shots are pretty awesome. I've never watched this show, but I'll look at this as a lost TNBA episode with SS guesting and it'll be all good. Can't wait to see it, just gotta remember to wake up in time :p

We'll be plugging it on the board here so I don't think you'll miss it! And it does good pretty good, aside from the odd looking Batman. I do like how they've noticably changed Robin. I never knew shrinking his head could make him look older.

The design of Robin reminds me of the way he looked in the TNBA episode "Growing Pains." TMS animated that episode, and I thought that Robin's head looked a little smaller as well as his cape looking longer and his entire frame seeming to look a bit more lanky. It does make him look more mature.

Robin changed...him..I'm still warming up to it..but it looks pretty good.....

though, those screens CC has, even as avatars, come out lookin' like crap.. :(

Static is animated by KoKo (Dong Yang) and they did do a surprisngly good job on Robin. I think the shrinking of his head makes him look a bit older - and it's a welcome change to. I like to see little bits like this in cartoons, characters chaning and stuff.

Who the [explentive deleted] is Static Shock???

Watch your langauge, please. Static is a 15 (or 16) year old kid from Dakota City who got caught in "The Big Bang", the "Big Bang" being a chemical explosion at the docks, Due to that explosion he (and a group of other people) got super-powers. Statics are, of course, static electricity based. So - he now fights crimes and tries ot pick up chicks. Here's the official show website:

Well, because of our board's auto-filter, if anyone types out a popular explitive, it comes out all asterisks as you typed it, hence the confusion.

So the bat-folk don't stick out in the Staticverse as badly as I thought. Though I have to say, CC's screenshots were true crap... surely he could have gotten it without the pixelation, right?

Okay, I'm biased. :p

This is so... weird. Batman and Robin on Static Shock? That'll mix like oil and water. It'll probably be the only serious-toned Static Shock episode ever made...

It's just so...weird. I just can't consider this canon in the Dini/Timm DC Universe... it took a lot of thought before I finally accepted Zeta, but now we have to bring in the Static Shock universe too?!?

Uhh... OK.

Besides, I bet dollars to donuts that Batman & Joker take over this episode... Static Shock and his villians will be taking a back seat on their own TV show! :p We all know that even the lamest Batman/Superman villians have more characterization than the entire cast of Static Shock! ;)

I dunno...it looks good, and I could see the SS universe being part of the DC Universe...heck, SS is more believeable in how he got his powers than Superman...

I liked SS. I thought it was fairly well writen, and it helped WB, cause they had a Black hero who was smart. He's a good role model for Kids...(and alot better than the token black kid on XMen Evolution)

"It'll probably be the only serious-toned Static Shock episode ever made...

I wouldn't put any money on that, if I were you...

The season finale to season one (dealing with the death of Virgil's mother) was really well done, as was the episode focusing on racism (there was just one bad line in the ep). The series is good. It's not the best, but it's good. I think the pairing of Static and the Dynamic Duo will work out better than the Static/Shaq episode which I can't really say I'm looking forward to.

"Static Shaq" is better than a guest celebrity episode has any right to be, funny and surprisingly warm, thanks to a very strong script by Chris Simmons. On the whole, Static Shock is *intended* to be lighter fare than Batman but that doesn't mean we can't do the other stuff. Take a look at the comic book series sometime and you'll see what I mean.

That said, there are a couple very serious episodes coming up this season, including one I still can't believe they let us do. I hope some of the folks who tune in just to see Batman enjoy the show and stick around for more of Virgil's ongoing process of learning how to be a superhero.

Any chance you can drop a hint to the "one I can't believe they let us do"? I am very intruiged by it. If you wanna keep it private - then feel free to email me. There's also a healthy "Static" thread in the AniGen Board, too, if you'r einterested to check it out.

Very cool! Looks like I'll have to stay tuned for the entire season. Thankfully the Canadian channel YTV is playing the first season (I missed some eps) a half hour before Kids'WB! airs new episodes. Perfect!
