It keeps saying I have insufficient hard drive space on my main hard drive. It'll show that I've only got like 150 mb left and say I need 200. I'll clean some stuff off and get it back to 250 or 300. Then whether I use it or not next time I look I'll be back under 200mb.

I ran scandisk and it said that I had a file in my temp folder that was reading to big. I deleted it, but that didn't fix the problem. Next time I looked, I was at 34mb. Then I ran Defrag, now I'm at 2.92mb.

Anyone have any suggestions? I don't have Norton.

Umm..1st off..what windows version are you running?
If you're running 98 & up, run Disk CleanUp

I'd check my internet cache next...you've probably got it set to big. Clear it out, and reduce the size.

Make sure after deleteing files you EMPTY THE RECYCLE BIN! It's not gonna read size wise that it's gone till you do.

If that doesn't help, I'll have more ideas

Yep, dude, I've done all of that stuff.

Internet cache is the temporary internet files right? The place I go clean out to make sure no one knows what I've really been doing on the net.

Any other ideas?

Hrm...

ok, how big's your HD...

Do you have any programs you can delete?

Umm..make sure your files in Temporary Internet Files are really gone...it'll keep cookies, so you'll have to manualy delete them...

Also, IE is bad about making multiple copies of files in the Cache..

I'd search the HD for files you no longer need...

Hard drive is 7 gig. I have deleted probably 500 mb worth of programs and other stuff. I deleted Rogue Spear, my windows restore info, and lots of other stuff.

I'm gonna check the cache like you suggest, and AIM like BB suggested and get back to you.

Well, the AIM folder is only about 5mb and I manually delete my Tempory Internet file.

Oh, I just thought of something else, I don't have a virus program and my outlook express has been moving real slow while everything else has been at top speed. I cleaned a bunch of old message out and it didn't help.

Outlook has been acting funny for about a month, but this other problem only started a couple days ago. Still, could they be related?

AHA!

I bet you've got megs & megs of e-mails sitting around..
Make sure you delete all of your sent messages (specially ones with attachments) delete old inbox messages, delete drafts..

then...THEN DELETE THE TRASH! Again, windows seems to have a problem with the whole, delete means MAKE IT GO AWAY!
