That's hard to say, some of those I haven't seen and some I didn't even want to see.

but of the ones I've seen, I wouldn't go anywhere near Black Cauldron
or Fox and Hound. Though I remember little about them because I was young when I saw them, I remember quite clearly hating them. :p

I'd watch Alantis just for Kida and Helga. The story was weak though.

I guess out of all of them my least favorite is Atlantis.

I got bored halfway through and finished watching it another day. It just didn't have anything really great.

Home on the Range. That was just God-awful, and to this day I'm embarassed to admit I paid to see it in theaters.

I was never a big fan of The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Mulan, Pocahontas, The Fox and the Hound and Robin Hood.

I'm going to say Pocahontas. It hurt the most. I was still young and innocent, and didn't think Disney could wrong... I'm sure there have been worse Disney movies since then, but my expectations weren't as high for them, or I just plain didn't bother to see them.

As for classic Disney (aka, movies released before I could see them in theaters)....I wasn't too fond of theAristocats.

I don't like the sequals that Disney did.
Very few of them were decent!

Since Chicken Little is, for some reason, not on the list, i'm going to go with Home on the Range. It's one of the worst animated films ever made, even worse than Don Bluth's "I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Disney" Films of the 90's.

The real shocker for me was Emporers New Groove. I didn't expect to like it at all. One of the funniest movies ever.

I never saw Home on the Range,,, glad for it. I thought it looked as bad as that chicken one modeled after Stalag 13 but that wasn't disney (Ithink)

I haven't seen Home on the range, but I've heard it's terrible, so that's not something I would willingly see, I guess. But Lilo and Stich was my least favorite. I'm sorry.:(

Atlantis, hands down. Not even Chicken Little bored me as much as that movie (besides the fact that the plot didn't make sense to me).

I haven't seen Home on the Rage, though.

And it's not listed, but Dinosaur was also a pretty weak and boring picture, IMO.

I haven't seen some on that list (BROTHER BEAR, HOME ON THE RANGE, HERCULES, etc.), but I think my all-time least favorite Disney movies are BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and THE LION KING. I just find them very boring and overrated, to be honest.

I remember not liking Mulan very much because I found it to be very dishonest. They were in a war and they didn't show any real violence. If you're showing a movie in which war is a central motif, then the realities of war; i.e death and destruction must be addressed and you shouldn't sugar coat it for your audiences (yes even if they are children) because the ugliness of war is the truth. Also I didn't think that the movie reached its full potential: there wasn't any real need for all those songs in the movie, and they should have focused more on the action and characters.

My favorite Disney movie was the Lion King. I loved it so much when it was released and I watched it on DVD and it looked great. Just a great story. My runner up is Aladdin.

Come on. If you went into MULAN expecting SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, there's a problem there. It's a Disney movie, of course it's not going to show how brutal war is. I agree, the songs (and some of the humor) did seem somewhat out of place given the rest of the film, but it didn't distract for me. MULAN is in my Top 5 favorite Disney movies. I loved it.

I'm intrigued to know why some of you don't like Brother Bear. I thought it was a beautifully done movie with some great humor and sadness.

I never really liked The Little Mermaid probably because Ursula freaked me out as a kid and Ariel just seemed like a complete airhead to me, I guess that goes with being in love. The Song Kiss the Girl was great though.

Pocahontas was not a favorite either mainly because they butchered the true tale and I just could not find Pocahontas a very interesting character.

I didn't come into Mulan expecting Private Ryan, in fact I didn't expect the war to take up so much of the story; and that lies the problem. In the Mulan, war is depicted in an almost consequence free type of way almost as if there wasn't nothing to lose type of way. There was no casualties on the battlefield; hence that is the exact opposite of war. I'm not saying that the movie should have shown gruesome death scenes, like the ones found in Private Ryan, but you have to be real too: war is an awful, destructive thing, and they must show the consequences of it; hence death. A movie that shows war scenes, but nobody dies is being, imo, dishonest to the audience.

Well, I have a soft spot for Robin Hood, just because I grew up with the narrative soundtrack. I can still quote the "taking too many chances" scene verbatim.

Treasure Planet was the biggest letdown for me, because the early trailer looked so much cooler than the actual movie. I wanted to edit out about a half hour of it. The song montage didn't work for me, and when Martin Short's robot said, "I am..." I said under my breath, "Unnecessary." Also, I thought the Silver/Jim relationship went from 'wary strangers' to 'the father/son he always wanted' way too easily. Not only that (I'm on a roll) but Jim seemed too old to need a dad so much, and that little crease under his eye really annoyed me.

After Lilo & Stitch turned out so well, I was expecting a lot more.

I disliked Dinosaur because it was such a take off on Land Before Time..
It did have some nice special effects, but I was board by it...very little in terms of a story, totally forgetable for me...........Stuart

I haven't seen Chicken Little, but I personally love Home on the Range.

Bambi will always be at the top of my list. Something about the peaceful and tranquil (Save the last 15 minutes or so) feeling was really attractive. I think I might've actually liked it more watching it now from when I was a kid.

I agree with you there. I think Bambi is the best example of the medium. It's not much story wise, but it's rich in movement. Even the leaves are animated beautifully and move with grace. The music is also a very nice accompaniment.

My favorites are Bambi, Sleeping Beauty, and The Little Mermaid. The Sword in the Stone and Robin Hood I love for childhood sentimental reasons.

My least favorites are The Lion King, Hercules, Brother Bear and while I love the music from Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame the films didn't have the magic from other Disney films and was beginning to feel formulaic.

Of the classics, Pinocchio is my least favorite.

I know that some of the ones on my list probably wouldn't be on there if it weren't for the major re-watching I did over my winter break. For a week, I decided to go on a nostalgia trip and watch some of the Disney movies I hadn't seen since I was a kid.

I remembered almost nothing about The Fox & the Hound prior to watching it again. To me, that was without a doubt the most unique, serious, and mature Disney movie I had seen.

One reason is the lack of a villain. Hunter Amos can best be described as an antagonist. Call me crazy, but he was the only character in a Disney movie that gave me that whole love-to-hate vibe, even though he's clearly nowhere close to being one of the most evil characters ever created. Maybe it's because he reminds me so much of one of my neighbors. (No joke, this guy threatened to kill my cats for going on his lawn.)

The shift in mood really impresses me. There are the light-hearted, cute, and upbeat moments when you know you're watching a cartoon, and other serious ones that really don't feel like Disney at all. The latter scenes managed to tug at my heartstrings.

I could go on all day, but this is probably enough for one post.

I'm intrigued to know why some of you don't like Brother Bear. I thought it was a beautifully done movie with some great humor and sadness.

I'm wondering that too....Personally,I loved Brother Bear...I found it really moving, especially the ending....I'm still annoyed that it lost the Oscar to Finding Nemo {not that I disliked Finding Nemo, just thought Brother Bear was the better film}...I also enjoyed Pocahontas alot, which alot of people didn't {of course,if you're going in expecting it to somehow be historically accurate, you're bound to be dissapointed, since it's based more on the legend of Pocahontas and John Smith}...

My least favorites are Treasure Planet,which I found boring {I just barely made it through 1 viewing}
Home on the Range,which was kinda blah {didn't care for the animation style,or the characters....Roseanne should not do voiceover....ever...}
Pinocchio....just never cared for....it does have some nice animation,though...

Here's my short list:

Jungle Book 2: The Jungle Book was one of my favorite films, but the second one was a joke. Nothing more than a joke. Due to the unpleasantness with Louis Prima's widow, Louie wasn't in the film, and he really could have perked the dismal piece of crap up. it would have at least been mildly enjoyable if it wasn't for them annoying kids.

Pocahontas: Wow! Dull, preachy, unenjoyable on every level. Those 2 capering animals seemed shoehorned in. Oh yeah, and revisionist history that would make Peabody and Sherman blush! Nice touch, Diz.

Dinosaur: Yaaaa-aaaa-aaawn.... I will say, if I fell asleep during it, I would have at least have had a nice nap. I remember one critic saying that it would have been good without the dialogue, and only a half hour as an Imax movie. That seems pretty much an astute comment.

Tarzan: Would have been much better if they were a little more accurate with the book, and gave Rosie a lot lot lot less time to cavort and caper. Robin Williams's Genie she ain't. Did like Tantor, though.

Rescuers ( This is the one of the only instances where the sequel was better. I loved Rescuers Down Under.

Dumbo

Bambi(For some reason I enjoyed Bambi II so much more)

Valiant

And Yeah Brother Bear was one of my favorites too it was the last good animated movie that they did that I loved. I especially liked that Bear cub what was his name again? I keep thinking it's Kodi and then I have this feeling that I might be mistaken.

I accidently misread this topic when I bumped it. Whoops I thought it was Favorite/ least Favorite

Pochahontas was probably my least favorite. I know I said the princess movies (Snow White, Cinderella, etc.) were the ones I didn't like earlier in the thread. I don't want to get into the whole historical inaccuracy, but that was probably the main reason I didn't like it as much as the others I've seen. And it just seemed kind of dull.

Are you talking about Valiant? That was a Disney film, and I can agree that it wasn't what I would call great.

There aren't many movies that I would nominate for the worst movie, but I can get behind least favorite. Disney films that I can nominate (some not on the list) include Home on the Range, Chicken Little, Treasure Planet, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and The Wild.

I felt there was much potential in a sequal where they discovered his identity of being Greystroek (or whatevewr), and they fumbled that ball on 2 occasions... no... three. I forgot the cartoon series. It's a shame they did better justice to the Tarzend story with the Ducktales episode "Jungle Duck"
