Hey y'all I was just browsing orbit and I saw a C-toon titled Cartoon Network Mag. Is this a real magazine or just some sort of publicity stunt for orbit. I think a magazine would be a really sweet idea. Anyone got some info?

There already is a CN mag in the UK,and has been since 1998. Packed with latest news, cartoons, drawing tips and fact files.

Yep, I think that's it. I'm not sure if they ever plan on a larger release or not. Overall the UK gets a lot more Cartoon Cartoon merchandise than we do in the US, just check out eBay sometime.

But does that explain the new ctoon, go look at it. Go to stickers and go to the second page.

There was a Powerpuff Girls Magazine some time back One side had the main features, the other side had a Mojo Jojo magazine mock up. It also had an interview with Craig McKracken. I wonder why they stoped making more issues of it? Poor sales? Oh well.

In my personal opinion, I think they should do something ike this in the states and kick Nickelodeon's can.

To be honest I didn't think Cartoon Network UK was superior in some way until now. Cartoon Network UK recently unvieled a brand new Cartoon Cartoon, called 'The Cramp Twins' which has since been sold all over Europe and on to the BBC (British Broadcasting Corperation) where it got really big ratings. I think plans are to get it to America soon. (Sorry if they already have,I got some of this info from Google which might be out of date now)

I know one aspect of the UK CN that I consider superior; I've read on some PPG websites that they've shown several PPG episodes that haven't been released in the USA, and probably won't be until the movie comes out. One ep- 'Forced Kin'- sounds particularly interesting. My reaction to having to wait months to see it can be summarized in one word:

AAAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!

That's pretty interesting. Hmm...I found this link on Cramp Twins.

If it's doing so well in the UK I'd be surprised if it didn't come to the US. BillyH, do you think that the show is interesting to older crowds? It says that the show does best among the 4-9 age group so that makes me curious.

They also show Danger Mouse. I wish I could watch that! Crumbs!

Danger Mouse is promoted quite a lot on CNUK and Boomerang UK,there's lots of adverts for it,ranging from a sing-o-long advert to one made up to look like an old 1920s movie.

The Cramp Twins:Well my brother certainly likes it and he's 11 and I only watched 1 episode and that was today, and it seemed pretty good.

What episode of the PPGs haven;t been shown yet?

I had a feeling about CN UK being superior back when they showed P&tB. Lemme guess, no scrunched end credits there? Or network logo plastered all over the opening? Or hacking away the opening titles to make room for 15 more seconds of commercials? Or running partial eps in the wee smalls as filler when the regular lineup runs long? *sigh*

Here's a page on the PPG World website where you can read the descriptions:

http://www.ppgworld.com/episodes.php?season=season4

Evidentally, PPG World has UK connections.

Kool! When will they release it?

Is this magazine by "DC Comics" called "Cartoon Cartoon" or is it an actual magazine?

Is it possible that someone could pick up an extra issue and I could buy it from you?

Having a CN magazine is cool. I've always hated Nick's one, and would have a party if it's discountinued (nick's).

Men in Orange? Are you talking about the fatcats at Nick?

"The Cramp Twins," which was produced by Cartoon Network UK.
And I've got a funny feeling that those nasty Men in Orange (the fatcats at Nick) will snatch it out from under CNUK and try to make it the next "B.U.M."

Does this help any?

Well, I got the magazine tonight. It looks like it's mostly for kids as I expected (and as Gookie posted), but I'm sure I'll get some chuckles out of it. I guess if anyone has any questions/comments on the magazine we can just add them to this thread.

Yes. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope CTN picks up Cramp Twins, not Nick, who will ruin it.

I got it at Barnes & Noble, but for some reason the magazine was in the wrong section. I think it was in with the Sports and Car Racing magazines. That is probably just a problem that my store had though.

Just check Barnes & Noble and Borders like Gookie says. :)

Has anyone come across the magazine at their local Wal-Mart, Waldenbooks, or Media Play? Those are the stores where I do most of my magazine shopping.
