Alot of people like seeing their favorite comic stories adapted into the animated series. But should the cartoons also try to adapt the art styles of comic artists or should they stick with their own designs and takes on the characters?

Well my answer would be no because comic book artstyle can sometimes be difficult to animate so using their own designs would be a better choice.

I always thought that it'd be a cool idea to get the comic book artists to design some simplified animation models. Like, say, for a Spider-Man toon, Mark Bagley or John Romita Sr/Jr draw some models. To me, that would really exemplify the whole 'living comic book' thing that superhero animation is so good for.

Obviously they'd have to be selective of which artists they chose to have their style translated. I would still love to see an animated series inspired by the artwork of Mike Weiringo. He's probably one of the better Spider-Man artists around and his style would fit just perfectly for animation.

comic market so I like have just a lil idea of what you're talking about maybe with the number or saga instead of the artist...whatever I think The X-men of Larroca maybe can be transfered to a cartoon but the designs of that guy in the Generation M and the new artist of X-factor are not good for animation...The design of Layla in the firsts Comics of X-factor was good to be animated...If they ever do the Born Again stuff I hope they use a different style but Lowlife Out and The widow may work in a dark cartoon.

Ok I'm not old in the

I would say it should be a mix. Say they were going to use the ultimate spiderman continuity they could adapt an arc in a near verbatim way and after that arc they could put in a filler arc followed by another near verbatim adaptation so on and so forth.

Would using the comics be a good way to get more comic readers watching the cartoon. I know the cartoons have a bigger audience than the actual comics themselves but sometimes people just don't watch the cartoons because they don't interpret the characters right according to the readers.
