Who could win in a battle of the 80's cartoon female warriors? pick who is hotter and stronger?
and which of their enemies could win in a battle? Hordak or the Barbarian leader with the buzzsaw hand?

Before going any further, let's provide the folks with some visual aids.
Here's Taarna:

And here's She-Ra:

And, just to include the alleged inspiration for both of 'em, here's Red Sonja:

In Combat, Taarna would absolutly demolish She-Ra. Taarna is more focused, and can take more punishment, and is much quicker to strike than She-Ra who wants to talk things out first, slash things later. I'm not saying She-Ra is a slouch in a fight, but she'd end up on a stain on Taarna's sword.
As for hotness, they're dead even.
As for the bad dudes. I'd have to go with Hordak. The barbarian leader was a LOT meaner, and ruthless, but Hordak has the numbers when it comes to loyal henchmen. Barbarian leader had an army, but he'd saw em in half at the first excuse. If Hordrak was smart, he'd go at Barbarian Leader full force and just swarm. If he tried to show off and go in alone, he'd be a pile of twitching limbs.
Sharklady, is Red Sonja an old comic book figure? I only know of her from the Conan The Barbarain movies, and her own movie Red Sonja.

On the Hottness Scale, I'd say She-Ra edges pass Taarna a little bit. On the Who Would Win Scale, I think She-Ra would (sadly) get her butt kicked by Taarna.
If only She-Ra could have had a suiting up sequence like Taarna did. :D

Hmmmm... She-ra looks more kid friendly... I guess the fight goes to Taarna. I have no idea who she is...

I think She-Ra would win in a test of strength.

She debuted in 'Conan #23' in 1973, so qualifies as one of the original cartoon swordswomen.

Well Taarna has the advantage in the area of defense over She-Ra; because as we all know that in most fantasy setting that the amount of protection afforded by armor or a set a clothing for attractive women is inversely proportional to the amount of skin it covers; and if Red Sona was entered into the runnings she would definitely have the advantage in defense:nurse:

What sort of battle experience does Taarna have? I mean She-Ra grew up as a Horde soldier which is why I've always seen her as having an edge over her brother.

With her experience commanding the Horde, from a strategic standpoint Adora/She-Ra might have the advantage. but if I recall correctly she is used to dealing with swarming numbers rather than a face-to-face battle. Against hordetroopers, She-Ra had an aerial advantage with SwiftWind as he's swifter than even their Horde Ships.
Taarna however is from the Terakian warrior race and their strength is legendary. She and She-Ra may have equal strength but Taarna is a bit more battle hardened and less likely to show mercy. If Taarna is from the original Heavy Metal, then She-Ra has lost her aerial edge since the Terakian had a Pterodactyl type creature in that.

Remember the episode where She-Ra had to fight the bounty hunter one-on-one? She-Ra won there and I think she can win against Taarna.

I didd not actually remember that episode. Did the bounty hunter have any sort of super strength etc as Taarna does?

Howdy,
If it's a fight with rules and such, then I'll call it a dead heat. Neither one wins.
However, if it's a no-holds-barred fight to the death, then Taarna wins in a walk. She-Ra came from an era when cartoon characters carried swords and spears but never got to use them as either. Taarna demonstrated no hesitation at all to hack up people in her cartoon.
Red Sonja would plant a Hyrkanian boot in either one, of course, but my rationale for that is more from my unreasonable attachment to the character than out of anything sensible. Also, she's a redhead. The redhead always wins, unless it's Dark Phoenix. :D

Yep, that one! :D
It makes me wonder what an updated She-Ra would look like.
I would have to say however that She-Ra would win. She is the princess of power, after all.

She-Ra would win. Adora, her alter ego, was a Horde trained Force Captain. She will know how to kick the other chick's ass when needed.
