According to The Digital Bits (http://www.thedigitalbits.com), Nickelodeon has struck up a deal with Paramount to release DVD sets of their Nicktoons.
Long before this announcement, Nickelodeon has frowned against putting out DVDs of their TV episodes, simply because it was easier to put out lower-quality VHS collections in the past.
The first DVD will be released on March 12th, for Nick's acclaimed series, "Spongebob Squarepants."
There is no word on exactly how many episodes are included in the DVD.
Here are a couple of Nick news tidbits:
"Rocko's Modern Life" and "Ren and Stimpy" make their long-awaited return to the network this week. They won't be played during the main hours, but at less accessible times. The fans will know where to find them. But if you aren't a hardcore fan, we'll tell you right now:
- Rocko's Modern Life: Weekend Mornings, 6:30 AM
- Ren and Stimpy: Sunday Afternoons, 1:30 PM
