The second feature length animated B&B flick is rumoured to be getting release this year after nearly 3 years of sitting on a shelf. Why now of all times?

--Daria has a cameo. It'll be a great chance for both she and Mike Judge to return to their roots. Any talk on what the script is about, and is that a good or a bad "why now"?

And I have to ask ....WHY ?
Im assuming this is a direct to video release.
Dick ..are you saying that the film has been finished
but collecting dust for three years - or that its been in
development hell for three years?
Theres a subtle difference ... if its been sitting on
a shelf completed for 3 years it must be truly
horrible.
Look at the latest Gary Sinese movie ..
they only shelved that for 6 months before quietly
releasing it. I heard that was kill your mother spit on
dog horrible. ( not even sure what that means- trying to
start a new expression).

From Dark Horizons.com:
"Beavis & Butt-head: Another Movie: The second feature length animated B&B flick is rumoured to be getting release this year after nearly 3 years of sitting on a shelf."
To me, that means that it has been complete and sitting around for that long.
Why wasn't it released already? Great question - I'd actually never even heard of a second B&B feature.
Now that I think about it, it is probably quite surprising that there wasn't more than one feature length B&B film.
B&B Do America grossed over five times it's $12 million budget (according to IMDB).
I suppose the start of the hugely popular South Park series combined with the departure of Mike Judge (who started on King of the Hill shortly after the first film came out) might have been the reasons for the oh-so sudden disappearance of Beavis & Butt-head from the big screen.
If this movie has been sitting around for three years, I'd be interested in seeing it - just out of curiosity.

Aside from the occasional late night airing on Muchmusic. I never see these character son television anymore. Maybe releasing it straight to video would be the smarter thing. Is there really an audience for these characters anymore?

Well Keith is gonna go see it ...add his ticket to the
total gross of the film ...that should be -
Lets see add the 4 ...carry the 1 ...
about $ 8.75 total domestic gross.

I read about this. The plot was that Beavis & Butt-Head go around the world this time...or at least that's how I remember it. Any word on cameos or soundtrack? And I, too, must ask...DTV or movie theaters?
Sincerely,
John "Captain Caps" Kilduff...
Would give anything to hear B&B making fun of today's videos.

I'd like to know what it's about exactly, but I'd probably go see it anyway. Any movie that you don't have to think about can't be that bad, right?

I don't know what the plot is, but I can't say I'm looking forward to this if it's released. It'd make a better direct-to-video candidate then a feature release.

I remember hearing about it a long time ago, but it was more than three years ago. I'll go see it.

More like "Beavis and Butt-head Do Absolutely Nothing," Cal.
Wow. The marketing wizzers at Viacom strike again! Can you imagine that meeting?
"Hey, I got an idea! Let's do a sequel to the first B&B movie, but let's wait three years so that everyone will not only forget about the first movie, but they won't even remember the TV show, either!"
"Yeah! Then, let's shutter the MTV Animation studio on top of it!"
"Cool! Maybe we can even sign a merchandising deal with Hardee's/Carl's Jr!"

Beavis and Butthead Do America is one of my all time favorite animated movies.

I'll have to say, the first Beavis and Butt-head movie was pretty darn good, and I wouldn't mind another if it's done right.
But... where is this rumor coming from? I'd be shocked if they completed a movie three years ago, and absolutely NOTHING got leaked out about it... the duo were quite popular, after all.

Don't forget that then alive Gene Siskel, and his partner in crime Roger Ebert gave it two thumbs up! Ebert has always been an animation fan so it was pretty much a given, but Gene Siskel was a complete surprise when he reviewed it.
I'll see a new B&B movie any day! I'm easy to please. :)

"beavis and butt-head do collage" I like that idea. I hope in this one they finally score. The reason I didn't like the first B&B movie is because they didn't stay in highland. I love thier antics.
