I was at the comic book store and I saw that they finally got the 10 cent comic book. Has anyone read it?? How many copies did everyone buy (I bought 2)??

Also, this is in regards to No Man's Land: Would it be cheaper to get the comics it's based on or the Volume books they are based on?? Is there a collection that has the entire No Man's Land story IN ONE BOOK??

I bought two as well. Ten cents is such chump change compared to the usual $1.99, $2.25, or $2.50. How could you not buy more than one? Last week was the cheapest I've ever spent on comics. Twenty-two cents. Can you believe it? Read it already, and thought it was a very good issue. I wasn't expecting it to be a full sized issue... I was expecting it to be a bit skimpy for ten cents. But it was far from that.

As far as NML, you could buy the individual comic issues, buy the trade paperbacks, or buy Rucka's novel. Buying the individual comics would be the most expensive way to go, plus you may find holes in your collection for some issues are harder to find than others. Not to mention NML spans out into all the Bat titles. But, you'd have a pretty cool comic collection.

Buying the tradepaperbacks may be your best bet. You'll get all the stories in chronological order, while saving both time and money.

If you're not too concerned with pictures, Rucka's novel is the best deal. It's a one time novel that sums up all of NML in a nutshell. Great writing, easy to follow, and you don't miss a beat. For me, I have both the novel and the trades. I wanted to see them both, so I could compare and contrast.

Hope that helps. :)

Yeah, that helps a lot. The tradepaperbacks are the ones that are in Volumes that are $12.95,right?? Is the novel any better?

I remember the days when comics were $1.25 (I think that was around Reign of the Superman and Knightfall). I used to have so many comics, but a fire last October took out a lot of them (including my gaming systems). :(

I'm saving up money (read:gift certificates from Christmas) so that I can buy those Batman DVD's in April. I would buy comics, but the closest comic store is 30+ minutes away. And like you mentioned, comics are being too expensive (so are animation DVD's like the Batman titles, and especially animes).

Speaking of animes, there is an anime called Big O that has some similarities to Batman. Have you or anyone else on the forum heard of it?? Batman is better of course, but Big O is entertaining in a unique way (I believe the animators from Batman:TAS did the animation for this show).

I bought only one... I mean, considering it's made to be cheap, why make it expensive? :)

I bought a few extra and gave them too a couple of people. Hopefully it'll entice them to pick up some more. Also, about the DVDs, they're far cheaper than most other DVDs released. The SRP price is $19.99, but will sell for far less, maybe even half price. Ya gotta admit - that ain't too shabby at all.
