I was going through some X-Men: The Animated Series episode and was surprised at the amount of cameos the show had. I didn't really pick up on this when I watched the show as a kid because I didn't know Marvel Comics that well. But now that I've read so many comics I can pick up on cameos alot easier. I've noticed that they use alot of really obscure characters too. How many obscure character cameos have you noticed in the Marvel cartoon?

I noticed alot of cameos in Fantastic Four especially less known characters like Namorita and Speedball. Also I heard that Spider-Man had a cameo in X-Men. Can anyone tell me which episode was that?

Phoenix Saga, Part 5: Child of Light (http://marvel.toonzone.net/xmen/episode/phoenix4/), although we only see his shadow on a wall, and a shot of his hand shooting a web.

War Machine (but not Iron Man) pops up as well, among a few others!

90s Iron Man had quite a few comparatively obscure character appearances as well, like Stingray, the Controller and Stilt-Man to name a few! It's interesting to see the makers of both Iron Man and Fantastic Four second seasons really tried to include as many MU characters as they could.

The Marvel Super Heroes from 1966, by virtue of when it was made, had appearances by some fairly obscure characters who're not likely to be seen in animation anytime soon.

I absolutely love the guest appearances in the Marvel toons.

But my fave is in the Fantastic Four toon with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle appearing. They gave 'em ears probably to avoid a rights issue.

In X-men TAS i remember Thor Dr. Strange Spidey War Machine, Hulk (As a Danger Room robot)...Quicksilver and Wanda in Repoman also Cannonball. That weirdo sunfire is a secondary character but...
Then in FF I remember Vison Thor, Hercules Then Thor again, all the X-men the most obscure is Scarlet Spider and the hand of Juggernaut.
But the most exiting-vagues of all the cartoons are in Evolution even more in just one episode, the allusion to Tony Stark and Spider-man is pretty clear.

Purple Man appeared on an episode of the X-Men. Black Panther made a cameo appearance in the X-Men as well.

Shanna, The She-Devil was on Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends.

There's been a whole bunch of appearances from weird, obscure Marvel characters throughout the various cartoons. I remember when I complied the cameo page for the Fantastic Four site, I had to enlist the help of randomguy to find out who the characters were! I gave up trying on the X-Men site, with the intention of adding them in when the show came to DVD.

Damn Disney.
