I'll make this nice later, but yeah, new episode premiered last night, and the next episode actually looks better.

I was hoping that this would've mirrored "Ninja Quest" from MMPR.

As usual for MF, kind of average. Just two items this week:
1. What happened to the video tape? They didn't have it yet (what we saw was just a magical copy - Udonna's use of future tense proves that), so it should still be a threat. I hope they resolve it sometime. It just seems like the kind of thing that should have been resolved ASAP unless its going to be something big.
2. Toby's great once again. The "I must be losing it" (or whatever he said) followed by his picture with the cardboard was great humor. If anyone has the ability to topple "it's buttery" as the best PR line ever, it's Toby.

I'll be watching this episode tommorow, and while Mystic Force has been great, it's got that too rushed feeling to it. I guess that's what happens when yuo chop 8 episodes off the schedule.

I guess that's what happens when yuo chop 8 episodes off the schedule.I agree that it's rushed, but Disney's episode order is sort of a scapegoat if you ask me. Everyone (at least at RB) keeps saying "only 32 episodes," "only 32 episodes." They want to complain that they're not getting as much entertainment this year, fine. Any other series can complete a story in one season (look at Witch on Jetix if you need an example - or JLU!), so PR should be no different. Because the cast changes every year, people like to claim each year is a different series and should be given the full 52 episodes that Disney usually goes with. That's not going to happen.
Would I like more episodes? Yes. Would I like every episode on DVD? Yes. Disney doesn't want to cooperate and I've learned to accept that. Plus, 38 episodes was a real strain on the production crew and cast. 32 makes it slightly more realistic. We should get higher quality episodes if the show is less rushed (production wise). That, however, doesn't seem likely. As long as Bruce Kalish is in charge, he'll write the show the way he sees fit. BK's "I'll do another 'Perspective' again no matter what the fans think" and "I only watched the end of PRiS (CtD), but it was highly out of context" attitudes prove he doesn't care about the fans and that he doesn't know a good episode when he sees it. I'm not saying he needs to devote PR to the teen/adult fandom, just that he shouldn't disregard us completely. He is the reason MF feels rushed. Not because he only has 11 hours instead of 13 hours this year, but because he wants MF to be a translation of Magiranger, not an adaptation. And because he thinks adding one bit of story development at the end of a filler negates the episode being a filler; it doesn't.
By the way, this rant isn't directed at you, bigddan. It's mostly directed at fan complaints in general and Bruce Kalish (and I liked most of SPD, so I really don't dislike him as much as the folks over at RB). Your post just brought up the topic...
I need to go sulk and/or get a life... :crying:

This episode was awesome. I really liked them introducing the Fire Heart into the story early on. It looks like it'll end up being the Battlizer. The intro was cool with the scientist being shown interested in it as well.
It was good to finally get some Xander focus. Xander was hillarious. "Fine! I'll do it myself. Like everything else around here." Then bringing Jake Bonebreaker to life. The quest through the Cimmerian Forest was cool. Go Team Xander! The Forest was a nice throwback to MMPR where there were certain places that prevented their powers and the name was a reference to the Cimmerian Planet in PRIS.
The action was great and good use of the Mystic Speeder given that the monster is a taxi. There seems to be a lot of build up for this season. Didn't Bruce say Disney wanted all standalone episodes? Hmm..
It also looks like they might have some trouble with the Rangers getting caught on camera in the near future. Did they ever take care of the tape? Anyway.. next week looks interesting. Hopefully we'll find out if Leelee is Necrolai.
I gotta say they're doing much better with the pacing this season. The episodes seem more multi focused rather than just being about one thing. Plus the episodes seem to carry a lot more weight. It's reminding me a lot of a bit of Ninja Storm with MMPR and Dino Thunder elements mixed in. Thus far, really enjoyable.
