Ok, I dunno about you guys, but my parents for some reason think that me and my bros downloading music, is the cause of our computer problems. Seriously! There's nothing wrong with downloading music! And besides, I virus scan and put every one of my downloaded music on a CD, so the hardrive isn't blocked at all! You'd think that my Parents would understand right??

Nope. Instead they banned me and my bros from downloading and listening music on our PC!

So, I've decided to play fire with fire, my first slow attempt is this survey, please answer it. When they see how many people download and play music on their computer, they're bound to let me download again; if not; Plan B...

But First, Please, PLEASE answer this survey! Remember: I'm trying to get my parents to let me download and listen to music again on my computer :), so heres the survey:

Music Survey:

First Name (Type Anoymous if you don't want to give it away):
Last Name (Optional):

(Choose One) Yes or No

5.) Does having or playing Music or Movies have any bad affect on your computer?
(Ex. Erasing your hardrive, or something major of that sort.)
(Choose One) Yes or No

6.) If you said "No" in (4), do you think that your parents are over reacting?
(Choose One) Yes or No

(Choose One) Yes or No

Villians I can deal with. But mothers? I don't go there.==to paraphrase Bruce Wayne to a troubled young Terry.

Downloading music files shouldn't affect the performance of your computer... they should little to no no virus threat through them either as virus are not transmitted through this type of file.

What will slow your computer up will be excessive non microsoft installable programmes which clog up your computer's registry and conflict with other programmes (normally microsoft ones!). Windows as an OS doesn't like non microsoft products (especially ANYTHING by AOL - that's from personal experience!)

So providing you're careful what programmes you download and what you install you shouldn't worry too much. The only problem that MP3's will cause is in how much hardrive space they consume - and the legality of it all......

Don't want to sound grandpappy, but if you are downloading copyrighted material of the internet, at least make sure you make up the difference by buying music as well and keep the industry afloat..... :) Especially the independent market which has a hard enough time making money as it is (trust me... )

Am I asking too much when I ask people to post in the proper forums? This is the fifth time in three days I've had to ask this.

No worries my fellow Canuck! I'm just tyring to establish that I'd like the boards to stay on-topic. You can probably understand why I get somewhat frutrated every now and again about this. Well, continue on!
