Well i'm writing an article for retrojunk.com about the best episodes of X-Men TAS.
I know u gives have a very strong opinion. Can u please tell me the top 5 multiparts/stories season by season.
I plan on writing season 1/2 together than three/4 and than 5 with the top ten episodes from the series!
Well Read here what I have (it is very rough and not refined, i just wrote down ideas) :) :
Well the point of this article is just to point out what were the best episodes of X-Men TAS Season by season to show what they should do of they do not release the whole series on DVD. They should release the Best of X-Men: The Animated Series. Now in my opinion that would be pretty cool. This is also to help people who don't want to download the whole series or wans to buy some of the videos and DVD's released. You can find alot of the episodes on VHS, which is pretty rare.
In every season I will try to pick the best episodes and will not let there be more than five, it's a pretty hard decison to narrow it down to a mazimum of five because this show is just really, really good.
Well each season will have the epsiodes which will have a brief plot summary, and than a review of the episode and why I think it is good. Also at the end I will give other good episodes that I did not include and also bad episodes that should be avoided.
Before you continue on I suggest you grab something to drink and to eat because this is a pretty lenghty article.
Also SPOILER WARNING for those who have not seen the series and want to in the future or thoise who plan on rewatching them soon.
Grab a drink and get ready!
SEASON 1
- Night of the Sentinels (1 and 2, but mostly 2 was the better part).
This episode started the animated series we know today that would in my opinion change who cartoons were in the 90s. The show and episode was clearly much like an 80s episode from Transformers, He-Man or GI Joe except it had that extra depth that would really start a animation revolotuion along with Batman TAS. It's the heart and drama of this episode that makes it good along with the amazing dialogue, and action sequences.
Also these two episodes captured very well what made the comic books a sucess. Mutants are being feared across the world and Jubilee finds out that she is one of them, she thinks that she is a freak and and outcast. Her foster parents don't know what to do with her. She feels like she is alone until she meets the X-Men and finds out that she is not alone in a nice conversation with Storm in which a very good thing was said, "people fear what they don't understand".
Another interesting fact was the fact that the X-Men attacked a federal government building. They did some illegal for a right cause, but it is still illegal. Wheter this tries to show that evil powers work in the government but it also showed that everrybdouy does bad. (ROUGH I KNOW IT BARELY MAKES SENSE)
The final thing was something cartoons have had in the past but not so profound. A good natured fun loving character was "killed". Sure characters were killed in other shows but nothing so profound as this. Was it Cyclops fault Morph was killed? Could he have been saved? These are questions you ask when you watch this episode.
If you are accustomed to the show you know what happens to morph in the future seasons, one of the best characters arcs of the shows and of TV.
To close this review I am going to talk alittle about Symbolism here, what Jubilee symbolizes in the show and to Wolverine. She symbloizes the future. Even though friends may die in the battle there is still hope in the future. Jubilee in the episode brings Wolverine back to the team.
In the series Finale Professor X backs this up by saying, "Jubilee; You are the future. When I look at your face, I see hope."

Remember that this is a rough draft of only one episode. Please give me Critiscm!:)
